| | Railing prototype for heavy cruiser

Hi everyone, This is the solution I've come up with for warship railing. I'm eager to hear anyone's suggestions or further ideas; I intend to cover the whole ship with this stuff, so it's going to be very part-intensive. (So anyone who's willing to (...) (...) That images is a little bright--can you darken it up a bit? Otherwise, that looks really cool. Since I'm a big fan of apocryphal construction toy materials, I've actually purchased 1/8" styrene stock from the local hobby shop and fed it (...) (...) Wait, is it too bright, or too dim? I'm a bit confused as to what you're asking me. But yeah, I've thought about the sheet styrene angle, and I decided against it--I'm a purist at heart. It's hard enough for me to even cut the straws, though (...) (23 years ago, 15-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

I'm not convinced of the overall benefit of this; While it may be (...) (23 years ago, 15-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

Hmm... the railings look good to me... My big question is: HEAVY CRUISER!?! *ahem* Sorry, that came out a bit abruptly... let's give it another go: HEAVY CRUISER? Some elaboration *please*! Got any specific class in mind yet -- a Baltimore? A (...) (23 years ago, 16-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

(...) (URL) is the pattern. My intent is to do the interior of the ship in light grey, and the exterior in dark grey and tan. It should be possible; for the layout, machinery, and deck fittings, I have a copy of Janusz Skulski's superlative _Heavy (...) (23 years ago, 16-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

(...) Dear me, either way you go you'll have lovely heavy cruiser for yourself. Have you thought of how to deal with that bow flare yet? It's got an awful curve to it by all appearances! (...) The obvious solution for me is a frame-by-frame construction, with each stud being rendered into a "frame." So I'll be building the flare out SNOTwise below deck level. I have frame-by-frame diagrams of _Takao_ which shall be adequate. It's (...) (23 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)
