MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla
Well, after more than 5 months of on and off experimenting, ordering pieces, building, tearing apart, and re-building, I've reached a point where I am ready to declare my version of Lockheed's F-117A Nighthawk (aka stealth fighter) basically (...)      Great piece of work. My favorite view is Stealth11 showing the front_side view. Looks like the real thing. Congratulations! -- Bob Fay rfay@we.mediaone.net The Shop (URL) Spencer Rezkalla" <srezkall@peoplepc.com> wrote in message (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Uhhh...uhh...yeah, those are just horrible, inexcusable, terrible 1/2-mm gaps there... Good Lord man, that F-117A is *brilliant*! Your decisions were good ones, and they definitely show in the model. I'm gobsmacked, dumbstruck, jawboned, etc. (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla
(...) Yea, yea, I know... he just happened to be hanging around during construction. Just think of him as some sort of anthropomorphic test dummy the engineers were using for feasibility studies! :) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

AHHHHHHH! I never thought it possible to do this! but you've done it! I've always stared at the pic in my room of this and thought how ugly it would look in lego, cuz of all o the wierd lines, but you did it! Yeow! this is so cool! Very nice, Love (...)         Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Oh my, that IS amazing. I don't think I've ever seen a model that's so, well, *smooth*. Wow. I think I like stealth2.jpg the best. I like that you nailed the proportions so well too. So when are you going to do a B2? :-) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John J. Ladasky, Jr.
(...) GRRRR! Upstaged again... I too have been experimenting with 3-D lifting body shapes that don't suffer from the "jaggies."          Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla
(...) Well, I don't think being first means much - the reward is all in the execution of each model. I'll be interested to see what you come up with for your lifting bodies. I'm sure there will be some new ideas that will inspire me to improve my (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John J. Ladasky, Jr.
(...) No, yours is *great* the way it is! However, my approach to the problem of a lifting body is quite different. You may find it interesting, even if you don't use the ideas to improve your model. How's the mechanical strength of your Stealth (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla
(...) The stiffness of the model seems OK. I can pick it up by the wings which seems to be the natural way to handle it anyway.         Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —A. Mark Wilburn
(...) Wow. Skunkworks would be proud (can't wait to see your rendition of the B-2 Stealth bomber ;). You really captured the faceted look of the F-117, and an especially brilliant job on the nose. Heck, I even like the scale! Mark W. (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —A. Mark Wilburn
(...) Doh... true, it's not a Lockheed... ironically I was going to say an SR-71 blackbird, but then I figured you'd try to do that in the same scale, which would end up a monstrous over 100 studs long! And the U-2 spyplane just doesn't have the (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla

I absolutly love it. If possible can you post some close up pictures of the landing gear, if you don't mind me borrowing some ideas. (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla
(...) I've added a few pictures of the aircraft's underside showing the landing gear and the internal bomb bays. The gear are simple in design - built with some technic elements. They are raised and lowered using click hinges. (23 years ago, 15-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —Mattias Martensson
Hi John First when I saw the thumbnail pictures I was very disappointed. Why has somebody put up pictures of a plastic scale model of the F-117. Then I realised it was LEGO. Truely a fantastic model. Is it possible that you will tell us more about (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla
(...) Gee - isn't that like asking a magician to reveal all his tricks? j/k ;=) Actually the construction isn't terribly complicated - it just involved a lot of trial and error to arrive at it's final form. It's kind of hard to describe with words. (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —Tim David
The most realistic Lego MOC i have seen, the smoothness helps a lot but the proportions and the angles are what makes it. Any chance of a DAT of it? I always feel that the people that can make models like this should be headunteed by Lego asap! Tim (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —John Spencer Rezkalla
(...) I wouldn't even begin to know how to make a DAT of it... I may temporarily dismantle some of the primary components and take a few pictures if people really want to see some of the internal construction details. (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: MOC: Stealth Fighter Revealed —Derek Hawkins
