Well, the B-2 is Northrop right?!

My next projects will be the Lockheed SR-71 followed by the U-2. My goal
is to build all three of the Skunkworks famed planes.

You really captured the faceted look of the F-117, and an
especially brilliant job on the nose.

The front nose wedge was the hardest part. I couldn't get the rest of
the project going without it. I think I spent the first two months just
trying different concepts - everything from 33 degree regular and
inverse slopes to a crazy conglomeration of double sloped roof pieces. I
had pretty much exhausted my options when as a last ditch attempt I
ordered a few 53 degree slopes and found they were perfect. The only
problem was they need to be attached with their studs facing away from
each other.

Originally I had them place back to back on 2x2 bricks with technic pins
connecting the bricks - but this left a visible gap. I asked around
Lugnet, and someone posted a brilliant solution to hold the bricks
together internally with 1x2 panels - which made the wedge seamless.

And the U-2 spyplane just doesn't have the (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)
