Well, I don't think being first means much - the reward is all in the
execution of each model. I'll be interested to see what you come up with
for your lifting bodies. I'm sure there will be some new ideas that will
inspire me to improve my model.

I'll have to admit though, I kind of enjoyed flying this project "under
the radar screens" so to speak. It made me feel like I was working on a
Skunkworks-type project - lots of secrecy, seemingly impossible
requirements, trying to brainstorm brick engineering breakthroughs... it
was rather fun at times - and occasionally frustrating.

Also note I didn't keep the Nighthawk design a complete secret either -
I did drop a few low quality teaser photos on Brickshelf from time to
time to reward those paying close attention! hehe :)

(...) No, yours is *great* the way it is! However, my approach to the problem of a lifting body is quite different. You may find it interesting, even if you don't use the ideas to improve your model. How's the mechanical strength of your Stealth (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)
