Re: My Latest MOC-- a Chateau

(...) What did you use for the columns on the front? They look like they're one piece, whereas the ones on the back look like "normal" 2x2 round bricks. Also I believe the conical trees used to come in two sizes. Which ones did you use? And where do (...)   Re: My Latest MOC-- a Chateau

Time to think about building something other than Trains, John!!! Great Job, good ornate details, and very impressive, I can't wait to see this on a layout table when you guys get the new setup done! Just be careful of those tall tree's, check my (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: My Latest MOC-- a Chateau

(...) It's a nice piece of work, J2. Kind of narrow, though, you should consider making it a bit wider. That's a lot of windows, I can see why you credited LD for making it possible. ++Lar (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: My Latest MOC-- a Chateau

(...) Thanks, JT. (Already apologized for the pic quality:/) It is mostly white; the corners, base, and trim are gray (too bad it isn't all gray; how nuts would that be to have *that* many gray 1x2x2 windows!) As it is, the chateau uses 330 1x2x2 (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Landing Gear Troubles

(...) Great suggestions guys. Thanks. I just took a glance at the Lego website and I think the Adventurers' car hubs will work. I've been in the dark ages for about fifteen years until recently, so there are many "new" pieces I am unfamiliar with. I (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

  Proposal: a TOWN building contest!

In the spirit of the recent Classic Space building contest, I'm proposing (and am willing to organise) a building contest for us TOWN junkies. I have some ideas of how we can do it (and I've set up a placeholder page on LUGNET for it, same as Todd (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Landing Gear Troubles

(...) They also would have to be connected using technic pins w/axle, which will be weaker than a #4 axle running through. Another thing which would be stronger and would still fit in the wells would be a pair of 2x2 round plates on each side of the (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

Re: My Latest MOC-- a Chateau

John, Great job on the Chateau, I stumbled across it this morning on Brickshelf and was very impressed with the ornate details around the doors and windows. Is it gray or white? The pictures kind of make it hard to tell. jt -- James J. Trobaugh (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Landing Gear Troubles

Try the Adventurers' car hubs. They're spoked the entire way around and are the same size as the Technic hubs you described. Only problem is that they might not look "Spacey," they're a bit old fashioned looking. (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)
