Re: a new kind of draw bridge

(...) Along with the floating crane to lift it into place! (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.arch)

  Dark Gundams

I've been developing technology for building large mecha (28 inches) with technic skeletons and gear driven joints over the last couple of months after messing around with Star Wars designs. Gundams are an interesting theme and well suited to this (...) (24 years ago, 25-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha) !!

Re: a new kind of draw bridge

(...) In a way, I wish you hadn't shown me that. :-) Now I'm going to have to create it with LEGO... SRC LEGOArches and other StRuCtures (24 years ago, 24-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.arch)

  Baroque Villa

This is a Baroque villa based on Villa Amerika, in Prague (1720). I'm afraid that not all of the ornamentation comes through in the LEGO version. It looks a bit more neo-classical rather than baroque. (URL) posting the model on (...) (24 years ago, 24-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: And I shall call him ... MiniMech

That is possibly the coolest mech I've seen in a long time. It reminds me of ED-209 from Robocop, and I've always loved that design. I'm feeling inspired, I think I'll go and try to build my own mech along those desing lines. Thanks for the (...) (24 years ago, 24-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Futuristic Capital Building

This is a futuristic capital building I created. (URL) utilizes a number of different classical architectural styles, and some art-deco, but the final look is decidedly futuristic. The central pillar is made from vertically mounted, curved, Paradisa (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: New TIEs

(...) Mark: nope, it's not. I ran out and bought a 7313 (what the heck, they're 20% off at Zellers, so it came out to just over $22 (about $15 $USD)) and the pieces are blue grey (very close to the shade Jay rendered his Ties in, but a little more (...)   Re: Classic Contest Entries

(...) Well it really could fit any of those categories. Maybe they should create a category for entries that cannot be decided on. Really, that has to be the wackiest model ever designed (catagorie 11!!!). And I thought I had built the strangest (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Church design - what is right?

(...) thanks, that's pretty useful. I friend told me that the transepts should be mote towards the tower, and the door on the southern side. He is correct about the door(s), but about the transepts position . I guess it will stay that way. (...) (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: Another Classic Space contest question

(...) The contest ends on the 30th. I'll only have 3 days to enter models. Its ok I'll just show em after the contest is over. -Jon (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: Storm Trooper and TIE pilot heads!

(...) It has been my complete pleasure to frustrate and perplex you. Seriously, the details of the find are really unimportant. It really was a find in the classic sense. I was engaged in an activity that had nothing to do with actually aquiring (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: MOC POVray BCS NoGun mecha

(...) look_at positions in the POV file. It is going to take some time to get comfortable with the positioning, but I am sure I will get the hang of it. Thanks for the tip, - Jim F. (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: MOC POVray BCS NoGun mecha

(...) Thanks for the information Joel, it is greatly appreciated!!! Now when I render my images, they no longer have the unsightly "jaggies". The following link will show you the assault boat I have been working on. (URL) still have to experiment (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Storm Trooper and TIE pilot heads!

(...) (yellow head) Nope, it's definately blank. I think it would have been cool if this was a classic smiley, actually. "The happy soldiers of the faceless empire." :) (brown head) The helmet on the TIE pilot is solid - no eyeslots or the like. I (...)   Re: Storm Trooper and TIE pilot heads!

(...) It makes sense, I guess. You don't see the faces so why waste the money on the printing. Or, maybe you are just looking at the back of the head and forgot to turn it around (don't laugh, I did that once late at night). But about the TIE Pilot, (...)   Re: Church design - what is right?

Nice. I like a lot of different things about it. I like the very small transept and choir. Usually small churches are purely rectangular. Only larger buildings tend to exhibit the cross-like geometry. I like how this one has the mini-transept and (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: Another Classic Space contest question

Well crapola. The camera was supposed to arrive today but didn't. It'll come while I'm gone so I'll be able to use it when I get back on tuesday. I have 7 more entries but I should be able to enter three when I get back. I'll just post the others (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: Perpetual Duplo Motion
