Classic Space Contest Pieces (for LCAD users)

To all of those out there who are using LDraw/LEdit or MLCAD in order to place an entry into the great Classic Space Contest, I have some great news for you. There are some parts that just have no equal in the digital domain and some that look (...) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Re: Cruise Ship

Very, very impressive. This is the most realistic LEGO boat I've ever seen. </alan> (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Cruise Ship

Cool! It reminds me of the new Disney Cruise ships. I like the way you manged to get the front of the ship to slope up using regular plates. An inspiration to all boat lovers. If only school would end for a couple of months, I could finish all the (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.boats)

  Cruise Ship

Thought I'd share a little something my brother and I have been working on sporadically since last Thanksgiving. The current pictures are somewhat out of date, as I took them almost a month ago. I've since completed the fourth deck and am working on (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: New 'Quirinius' and 'TigerStark' Mecha

Jason, Sorry for the late post. I've been trying to finish my newest mecha in time for the Lugola meeting. I'm commenting on Mark's post because I agree with him but have a couple other comments of my own. (...) I agree. I think the missles on the (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The face of things to come

(...) Thanks. THat's one of the after effects of being a teacher. I finally learned to articulate well. ;-) (...) Heh! You already were competing with me in that area. I wonder if there are enough Throwbots to satify our needs? ;-) (...) 14?!?! (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) the ninja swords as antenna. I also like the vertical arrangement of the slope pieces. Keep up the great work! -Michael (URL) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The face of things to come

(...) Dave, Thanks for the reply. I think you explained the double joint thing better than I ever could. The bummer is that now I get to compete with you for pieces :-) Oh and one last thing...Ninja swords!!! I need 14. Please call. Bryce McGlone (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Classic Contest Entries

(...) Fine with me -- as long as you designate one of the N people in your collaboration team to be the one who casts the official votes for your team when voting time comes for the winning entries. Also, naturally, none of the people on a team can (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Re: Large and Impressive Boat

(...) IMHO, even if there's no new solution to the pixellation of bow and stern (our perennial problem). I think the colour scheme is quite effective, but I'd love to see a few more detailed pictures of some areas, notably the midships region and (...)   Re: The face of things to come

(...) Hey there, Mark! As one of the few who has actually held Big Blue and the face of things yet to come, I can tell you that these are incredible masterpieces. The Throwbot limbs don't appear to be able to hold much weight, but doubled up (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: 2 new MOC's

(...) I have used the Essential guide to V&V for this model and the pic you have scanned (thanks for doin so) is very different. The wings in the EGVV show only one blaster on top of each wing. It's probably easier for authors to "adjust images" (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.starwars)

  RE: Classic Contest Entries

(...) I didn't really expect you to say yes. :) The quest ion to you was a joke, but then I figured that it might be a good idea in some cases, hence the footnote to Todd. (...) Or make other people jealous that they're nowhere near as good at (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Re: Classic Contest Entries

(...) Sorry Bram, I'm working solo on these projects :) The funny thing is a couple of the alternate models I've made I'm considering modifying slightly and resubmitting as their own sets. I'm hoping by posting elaborate alternate models to these (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: The face of things to come

(...) Yes they work well. The double gives about the same mobility of the single with more support. The only pose a double won't give you is "cross" articulation: it wouldn't be able to hold a two handed sword, for example. At least not the way I'm (...)   Re: My scorpion-towed hover chariot

To answer both of the connection questions: 1. Connecting via the stud will force the cahin to make a "bend" to get through the tail, and when placing the chain straight, the scorpion will then be slightly rotated around the y-axis (sorry, done too (...)   Re: Classic Contest Entries

Here's my next entry for the design contest. It's a category 8 mobile rocket launcher, based loosely on the 6950 mobile rocket launcher. My concept for it was a smaller, faster, lighter version of the 6950 for people who want to lob a missile 1000 (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)
