I agree with you Steve. I like most of the mechs I've seen, but I like them much better if the pictures are real and not just computer generated renderings. Actually I have built the "Ryu" mech from the LCad instructions on Karim's site, it is about 95% complete and will stand on it's own (with some careful balancing) as long as the booster "backpack" is not attached.I have made some changes to the (...) (...) I've found that when it comes to adding steering to very small vehicles, it's easiest to do articulated steering. It just occured to us that we never posted about the bridge we made. It's the techinic train truss bridge, 8 track lengths that was used in the Manassas train show. Messing around at my local WallyWorld, I discovered a pretty inexpensive option for making capes, without the fraying problem that most normal fabric encounters. I see a lot of mecha posted here which are nicely rendered with MCad and other packages. They look absolutely fantastic - but am I the only one that it bothers that many of these designs couldn't possibly exist and stay together, stand on their own, (...) Having just spent the last two and a half hours fighting with the ball portion of the ball and socket pieces from the Throwbot set, I'm ready to commit heresy and chop one of the balls off. I invited a friend over this evening to playtest the BrikWars castle-era rules. Well, the best laid plans of mice and men gang aft agley, and we wound up building a setting for a battle, instead.
