New MOC: Cowans Sheldon 76T Rail Crane with Power Functions - photos

Here are the photos of my new Rail Crane with Power Functions: (URL) It's an 8mm scale model of a Cowans Sheldon 76T crane. Some details still to finish - I want to make sure it passes the scale load lifting test first. The scale load will be 6 full (...)   Re: Share your dome!

I'm not sure this qualifies as a dome. I like to or at least try to make my roofs "exciting". A dull roof can kill a house with an otherwise great/interesting facade. So once I said to myself, let's add a small observatory to the rooftop. Well, it (...) (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: AZOTH - close combat mech

(...) Ah, building a mech bay is a great suggestion. Hopefully my future builds will be able to stand on their own (!), but if not, this would definitely be the way to go for a better presentation. Thanks Eric! Dennis (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: AZOTH - close combat mech

(...) Thanks Travis. Glad you like the mech and its photos. Yes, it is unable to stand on its own. I need to learn more about joint capabilities and also improve my building so that things don't end up being so heavy. :) Dennis (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Sentinel Class Recon'/Utility Vehicle (RUV).

Magnus, Many thanks for the feedback, it is appreciated. It is hard to keep track of the newsgroups here, I came out of a mini dark age this year but I joined LUGNET some years ago - alas it seems to have fallen into disuse quite a bit so it's just (...)   Re: Sentinel Class Recon'/Utility Vehicle (RUV).

(...) Andrew, Thanks for sharing all your military MOCs here! I'll just comment on all your vehicles in this one post, rather than in separate ones. I like them all! They have the sort of look that you'd almost expect LEGO to go with if they were (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Sentinel Class Recon'/Utility Vehicle (RUV).

OK, so I couldn't help myself - here is the Sentinel Class Recon'/Utility Vehicle (RUV), based loosely on a Jeep, its purpose is to scout enemy territory, act as a patrol vehicle and as a general runaround. (URL) Sentinel is lightly armoured and can (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.build, lugnet.announce)

  Re: Recluse Assault Mech

Hey, coolness. I never made anything in those colors before, I like it. The way you built the cabin on top is really makes this design for me. Like it can take on action from all sides. (Lol, sorry j/k) As always, your technical battle readouts are (...) (17 years ago, 25-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: AZOTH - close combat mech

Hello! Clean and neat design! I see you also rebuilt the legs and feet. Maybe instead of a stand, you could create a lite mech bay to prop it up. Just a thought. Wow those are some jet boosters! Wonderful photography. I liked seeing the presentation (...) (17 years ago, 25-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Recluse Assault Mech

Hello, All I've been busy again! I decided to rebuild an old design...The Black Widow. However in the course of building, it quickly became apparent that I had a completely new design on my hands. I present to you , the Recluse (Tarantula probably (...) (17 years ago, 25-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The Brick Testament - David, King of Israel

(...) Nice to be appreciated. I've started in on my missing commentary. (...) I was wondering about the green robe. Very well thought-out. Of course, David somehow got several inches taller for the coronation. :) (...) -explanation- I should have (...) (17 years ago, 24-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: The Brick Testament - David Makes New Friends

Going back to try and cover the stories I missed: David Acts Insane - I really like the wall behind the Philistine king's throne. The "drool" is funny as a LEGO joke, though I'm not sure if it's effective just looking at it as a depiction of the (...) (17 years ago, 23-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: AZOTH - close combat mech

(...) I don't normally follow the .mecha group, but I saw this model posted on the LUGNET front page, and I have to say that I really, REALLY like this mech. Visually, it just seems to me to capture that anime spirit really well. (It makes me think (...) (17 years ago, 23-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Post for David Winkler... The Stanford Bunny!!

I was asked the following question: David, I just caught your article on LUGNET about usingPov-Ray, I tried the code you had posted with a .ply Ihad and it didn't work, gave me errors on the textureand translate lines, is there any chance you (...)   Snot globes of radius 18-48

A while back I posted plans for a Lambrecht globe of radius 48. It was cool, but required ~6000 pieces and took a week to build. Designing it had involved some hand-coded values and hand tweaking. Now I have posted buildable plans for Lambrecht (...) (17 years ago, 23-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Re: The Brick Testament - David, King of Israel

Your absence really made me appreciate how fortunate I've been to have someone so consistently providing detailed and thoughtful comments and questions on each update to The Brick Testament.   Infiltrator Class APC

This is probably the last military ground vehicle I will be pressing into service for the Tabletown Army - well, for a while at least. My brief here was to complete a trio of vehicles so that the Tabletown troops actually had something to ride (...) (17 years ago, 21-Nov-07, to lugnet.build, lugnet.announce)

Re: The Brick Testament - David, King of Israel

Hey Brendan, I've been meaning to go back and comment on the David/Saul stories before doing this, but am afraid I'll just get further and further behind. I do intend to go back and do those, but for now: King me: Not a lot to comment on here. I (...) (17 years ago, 21-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)
