Magnus,
Many thanks for the feedback, it is appreciated. It is hard to keep track of
the newsgroups here, I came out of a mini dark age this year but I joined LUGNET
some years ago - alas it seems to have fallen into disuse quite a bit so it's
just one place I post nowadays. I had no idea there was a military group
though, that'll teach me not to look very hard!
Re' the civilian drivers, yeah, this is something I need to work on - for now
I've ordered some troops from Brickarms as a quick hit. I've been using loads
of spare Luke Skywalkers in my vehicles so far! Ideally I want troops with a
nice green uniform to match the vehicles. And lots of kit!
The only vehicle I'm not 100% happy with so far is the APC, mainly because I ran
out of decent pieces - all the others I'm going to leave as they are - different
colour schemes is a good idea though. I wonder what the Aggressor MBT would
look like in grey...assuming those slopes come in grey of course.
I've deliberately gone for a slightly "chunky" look to my vehicles - I've kind
of eschewed aesthetic considerations - these are vehicles designed to do a job
and if they look nice at the end of it then that's a bonus. Though I suppose
there is sometimes a certain an inherent beauty to a killing machine... With
the MBT for example, I got a lot of inspiration from the Bovington Tank Museum -
the amount of stuff mounted on some tanks there is amazing, little nooks and
crannies, sensors, smoke dischargers etc - so the Aggressor is a practical
machine. It really feels like one when you handle it as well - sturdy, solid
and almost as if it will come alive and begin to snort and rumble away...
Sorry, now I'm rambling...
If anyone is in any doubt as to why my town needs all this equipment - check out
my website - http://www.tabletown.co.uk and you'll see the enemy threat for
yourselves (go to the news page!).
Regards and thanks again,
Andrew/Dr. S.

| (...) Andrew, Thanks for sharing all your military MOCs here! I'll just comment on all your vehicles in this one post, rather than in separate ones. I like them all! They have the sort of look that you'd almost expect LEGO to go with if they were (...) (17 years ago, 26-Nov-07, to lugnet.build.military)
