  MOC: Scots Baronial house
 
I built this a few years ago, but I don't think I ever announced it at the time. It's a Scots Baronial mansion house, based on the buildings of 19th century Edinburgh architect David Bryce.   MOC: Kedleston Hall
 
Kedleston Hall is a classical 18th century mansion in Derbyshire, UK. I've modelled it in LEGO, and you can see the results here: (URL) front is largely accurate, excepting the lack of sculpture and the fact that I've compressed the staircase so (...)   Classic Space Meets Belville
 
The Blue Belle Space Patroller, or just "Belle" for short, is perfect for extraplanetary excursions from the ol' moon ranch or Tritonian ice castle. She comfortably seats two, and can easily carry the goods for a nice Martian picnic, cometary (...) Hello dear fellows! Today it's time for my updated MINI version of the famous Battlestar Galactica (Classic 1978s series). This one is much more detailed than my first version. (...) Interesting use of those UFO parts...I could never find any use for them except for flying saucers. But yours do match what I would imagine a domed cover to look like. I'm afraid that I'm not a fan of mecha at all, but I do like Moonbases. Now this one of Eric's (URL) I like a lot! The blue and the grey are a GREAT color combination IMHO! Of course, if you made a Docking Bay in this style for Classic Space ships (...) (18 years ago, 27-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

To both reply to this post and the one mentionned by Didier about the sturdyness, I noticed that if you put the 4 1x1 tiles stud out and in the exact middle of the 2x2 tile then the building will be more sturdy than putting the 1x1 tiles in (...)   Tunnel Mouth / Bridge Arch
 
The tracks from the Snowmobile 8272 and Bulldozer 8275 make a great tunnel mouth or bridge arch - smoother than using slope bricks. (URL) used 27 links at the moment, fixing them twice on each side. The arch as built fits well over 6-wide, 8-wide or (...) (...) hmmm. I have a suspicion that most non-integer cubes are impossible because of the way the surfaces can be constructed. Each side of a surface must be constructed out of I + 1/5 J plate units (I and J integer) since we can only make them out (...) Of course, the thing that's still missing is the 3x3x3 cube! We've discovered how to make a 2x2x2, a 4x4x4, 5x5x5, and anything larger that's an integer multiple of studs... But no 3x3x3's :( The other thing that I haven't seen tried is making (...) (18 years ago, 22-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)
