  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

Though more of a sculpture, without the joint mobility and Technic drive gizmos, it's an interesting design exploration. The head is still somewhat insectoid, but more armored. It looks like something I'd build. The body looks heavy and tough. I can (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Half-timbered houses

You do see half timbered houses in the UK a fair bit usually in terraced streets most frequently above shops. I've certainly seen more half timber than full timber but I guess they last better. As Lenny says extra floors were frequently added onto a (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.castle)

  Australian Flag Mk2

G'day. First let me apologise for the brevity of my (URL) two> (URL) earlier> posts of this evening. (And also for 'bumping'). I hope that by the end of this post, you will understand why. Those of you who frequent .loc.au will notice a number of (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

  4 x 4 x 4 cubes

G'day all, Whilst watching the Matt Damon Bourne movies recently, I began turning over in my mind if it was at all possible to create perfect cubes using LEGO. In part inspired by the famous Lowell-Lambrecht spheres, I present my (almost perfect - I (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  paper "stickers"

I was looking at some Lego train creations recently & was thinking about how the sloped brick 'lines' on the trains were well done. Then I thought of the difficulty in getting sloped or curved lines to 'look' right in brick, OR maybe not having the (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  K-MAX Helicopter

Hi everyone No, it's not quite military, but I think it could just be a matter of time before the K-MAX is given a combat role. The K-MAX is built by KAMAN Aerospace and has a logistics role in some armed forces - at least the promotional video (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Sumo !!

(URL) (Many thanks to Mike Crowley (aka Count Blockula) for the (URL) BrickFA building technique>!) I've been pondering the idea for an Ozumo (Sumo) vignette for awhile now, and with Mike's technique, this has now happily come to be. Not only is (...)   Re: An "almost Joe Vig" time travel vignette.

(...) I was there then, *and* I'm here now, so I have time travelled in the opposite direction. It takes longer, and you grow old from doing it, but it's fun. :) I wouldn't enjoy going back to basic 1970's Lego either. I only miss those small (...)   Re: An "almost Joe Vig" time travel vignette.

(...) I like it! And the 'double time' scenario shows that Lego has really evolved. I'm not at all sure I like the 'good old days' better... (19 years ago, 25-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

  New Mecha: The Tribunal

I just finished my latest Mecha, I call it Tribunal. You WILL be judged!! I warned you all with my last Mecha post that I might decide to make another tripod at some point. This project was much more ambitious than TAU, and incorporates a few new (...) (19 years ago, 26-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space)

  Re: My first mecha

I like it. its a good representation. For those in the dark on this - the original looks something like this: (URL) weapons look the part, although I think the fins only need to be on one shoulder. I think that you could get the look a bit closer (...) (19 years ago, 26-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

An "almost Joe Vig" time travel vignette.

Hi, Pictures are here: (URL) call this an "almost Joe Vig" vignette because I built it with the intent of entering it in a Joe Vig contest but I never got around to buying the proper pieces to build a "correct" Joe Vig minifig (on top of not having (...)   Re: My first mecha

(...) Snip (...) As you have no doubt noticed, Sean, building mechs gets a little tricky at times. However, I can tell you that as a total Battletech junkie you have done very well with this one.   My first mecha

Hi, everyone! I'm normally all about architecture, sculpture, and whatnot, and I've never built any serious sci-fi. I was recently commissioned by a woman to build a model of a mech called "Viktor Hannan" for her brother. He's a total Mech nut, and (...)   Re: Plasmic Bricks dot com

Bryce - what is the creation you are wearing as a hat - is it the rack? Interesting use of Lego anyway... I like the site - however I noted some links are target blank, and others arent. (...) It's spelled 'counsel', and no, your apparent (and deeply wrong) belief to the contrary, I am fully capable of disliking you for my own personal set of reasons.   Re: Half-timbered houses

(...) After searching exhaustively on Google (well, as exhaustively as 1.5 minutes allows), the "half-timber" was a contrast to using complete logs -- the timbers were split, or (more often, I think) squared-off. Steve (19 years ago, 23-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.arch)
