  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) Your picture links don't seem to work, which is a shame as I'd be interested to se how they work. Steve (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: 4883 + tyre = American truck

(...) Hi Nathanael, Looks great! There are some clever SNOT elements you've included with it. It's really neat how you used the Wedge 4 x 4 x 2/3 Curved ((URL) see Peeron>) to give contours to the sides instead of having flat "walls" on the sides. I (...)   Custom Tread Links

So, I need big treads. About 400-500 studs long total, and about 8-studs wide. I've jury-rigged some prototype treads, and I'm fairly happy with them, but I'm curious to see some other examples. Anyone know of any? Here's what I've got so far: (6 (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Today's offer from JJ's furniture store: Spanish Wall

Hey Jojo, Very nice. I always thought of these screens as Japanese for some reason. This MOC makes me think of that Monty Python sketch in the marriage counselor's office. Bruce (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering)

(...) LOL, this is available at a dozen well-known LEGO websites including Peeron. Now you can add those RGBs to your 'program'. It seems silly to me to create a LEGO mosaic... using colors that are far from the colors of the corresponding LEGO (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

  Re: 4883 + tyre = American truck

(...) It also seems that the Euro cab-overs have much taller windshields, that seem to bulge outward from the cab. I guess it gives the driver greater vision immediately in front of the truck for easier/safer manoeuvring in confined spaces. Also it (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

Request building tips on 4403 alternative model

Hello all, I've tried to build one of the (URL) set #4403 Air Blazers> alternatives that doesn't have full instructions: the jet fighter with two parallel tails and adustable wings. I've never been a real master builder, and I'm man enough to admit (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.lego.direct, FTX)

Re: Peak Diesel Engine (was Re: BNSF new paint)

(...) Thanks :-) I particularly like the fact that the effect is easier to achieve with Lego in 8mm scale than in HO or OO in 3.5mm or 4mm scale. Using SNOT with grille tiles gives a finer grille than just alternating plates, and there's some relief (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.schleim)

Re: The Ryetsumaki - MC7 Ball Joint Frame

(...) This is an interesting technology and great Mech -- thanks. I have a few questions for either Eric or MC7 -- I noticed that some of the joints have multiple ball joints. Does that stiffen the joint and at the same narrow movement to one axis? (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Today's offer from JJ's furniture store: Spanish Wall

(...) I don't think so; look closely and it's not too hard to make out a spec of white. My guess is that the hip piece (the part that the seperate legs hinge onto) is white. So, she's got panties on. Not that I care...or anything. --Josh (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town)

  Re: Tatsumaki Ver.2

(...) effective. Six Titan XP's? You must have one of the largest collections of dark blay on the planet (not to mention orange...). I especially like the back view, particularly the backs of the legs. This is sometimes a weak area on mechs. Not (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Some fun for Buffy and Angel fans (sorta long)

(...) Cool! Someone else who knows McCloud (and Aragones!). D'you know, I've owned that book for years, and never made the connection to it being useful in thinking about Lego? Silly me... Anyway, well done, Erik. This is a usefully (...) (20 years ago, 10-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

  Re: 4883 + tyre = American truck

Re: Today's offer from JJ's furniture store: Spanish Wall

Hello! (...) That's up to your imagination... Lar, however, had a point. "Chinese screens" sounds plausible. Thanks! Bye Jojo (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town)

  Re: 4883 + tyre = American truck

(...) I don't know if it really matches a Peterbuilt or a Mack but ye-Gods man, I'd say you have one awesome looking truck none the less. It certainly appeals to me, and once again reminds me that 2005 is going to be a banner year for Lego sets. Out (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  4883 + tyre = American truck

Why doesn't the 4883 Gear Grinders set have 6 big tyres instead of only 5??! I'm a bit disappointed because now I had to use 1 extra tyre to build this American truck: (URL) Once moderated click (URL). I'm not sure if it has the right proportions of (...)   Re: The Ryetsumaki - MC7 Ball Joint Frame

Great project, both of you guys. It's made me think about what possibilities might lie in builder collaboration. It might be difficult to get such good results as you got, however. (20 years ago, 11-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
