  Re: Mech terminology

(...) is (...) That's how I've always used it. One mech, several mecha. FASA is welcome to come and try to sue me. "MECH MECH MECH!" Anyone with as poor a record of respecting IP as FASA has little ground to stand on. Besides, IMHO, FASA (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mech terminology

(...) Oh. I thought "mecha" was just a sort-of plural form of that other word. Steve (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mech terminology

(...) It's generally a good idea to refrain from using the term "mech" in public postings... "Mech" is a trademark owned by FASA (the makers of the rediculously bad Battletech series of miniature wargames) derived from the word "BattleMech". They (...)   Re: Most Inspiring Anime/Manga Poll

(...) Yep, U of U. They're an anime club. My friends and I would sometimes go there, but they had a tendency to watch anime that I wasn't particularly interested in (me being the main anime fan in my group). Just was curious with all your interest (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Check out these mecha

Dude, you are SO cool. I'm not worthy. <bowing> The cool thing is, these don't necessarily have to be microfig scale... they could also be minifig scale combat droids! Some creative use of minifig parts, and they could be power suits, or cyborg (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Directional Transmission

Serious mechanical builders should study these handy directional transmission devices. They rank high along with other nice sub-assemblies, eg, adder-subtractor differentials and shifting transmissions. You may use them in machines with or without (...)   Re: Check out these mecha

(...) Those are great! It must have been hard to give them that much detail in such a small size. I especially like the Melee Mech, and how you represent people at that scale is also kinda cool. Greg Majewski (URL) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: A new contest

Eugwe, Mike's comment is a bit short, but Jonathan has a reputation that, well... sometimes precedes him. I am not defending Mike's comments (1), but you should not think that the comment arose without a history. And proper tack is the norm on (...)   Check out these mecha

  Mech terminology

Say, is there a good guide around anywhere to mech terminology, especially weapon types? One of the notations I've seen a lot of, for instance, is "SRM##", where the ##'s seem to be the count of rockets (i.e., SRM8 or SRM20). At this point, I can (...)
