  Re: Mecha Fun

(...) Wow...he posts again. Welcome back. You were so the one who got me hooked on mecha with your Aldebaran last June. I am/was so blown away by it that I just had to build my own variation (awaiting pieces). Keep posting and building. -Joseph (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

(...) (snip) (...) Hmmm, how does that work? Oh, don't tell me - you gotta keep some secrets ;-) (...) (snip) (...) I moved to an apartment last year where the Lego building feng shui is all wrong; I haven't even bought a new lego set since I moved (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

(...) Yep. I'm actually using this: (URL) And strengthening it with this: (URL) (VISUALS! YAY!) (...) Thanks Chris! And yep, I understand your concerns with the colours. (...) Heh... It's been so long since anybody has used it, I thought it was fair (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

(...) So do I, I just think it looks silly where it is. (...) Yeah, I get the idea but I still don't like the look. What's with the attitude? (...) (Link snipped) (...) So? I still think the execution is lacking. What does your inspiration have to (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

(...) Thanks Soren! (...) I kinda like the sensor turret. :-( (...) Dude... It's an officer mecha, and it's called Centurion... Can you figure it out by yourself? (...) LOL Thanks but no thanks. It's funny you say my rifle is generic, when it's (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

(...) Thank you Chris! (...) I greatly respect your opinions concerning colour schemes because you have always given me such feedback over the years. So yes, I think I overdid the brown/red colours. To tell you the truth though, I sorta like such (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The Flying Wing

(...) Excellent idea. As you write the best part is the rear gunner. I am looking forward to seing more pictures. However I think that the planform is too straight. The wings needs to be swept back and maybe more tapering. Christian (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

Darth Maul (bigger than) Mini-Land Figure

He's bigger. He's badder. He's Darth Maul. Check him out before he "splits!" (URL) I've gotten to the point where these things just can't be called mini-land figures anymore. But, that's ok: they're "Mike's Mini-Land" figures! It's just so much (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !!

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

Nice. I like the colors, but then, I'm a crazy man. I'm not feeling the mid-torso or the head. The cockpit just look beaky with that boom for the sensor sticking out. Perhaps if you moved the sensor pack down a couple of bricks. And what funky (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

Woohoo! Finally, a biped mecha from one of my favorite builders! This model definately has your style in it. Everything from the different color scheme to the strange body proportions, to the arsenal of weaponry! I don't really find the color choice (...)   Re: Motorized Tank

Okay, after several failed attempts to increase the speed of the tracks, here's video of the tank in operation. It clocks in at 5MB so be sure you can handle the file: (URL) Video> Enjoy! Soren (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

(...) Ahhh... I see you are using the plate hinges, presumably with a brick with a technic hole + friction pin? I'm not a huge fan of those small ball joints, either; but some kind of ball joint makes a good ankle joint. I'm also dissatisfied with (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Christopher Snead (...) 30 (...) I'm a scientist (Physicis and Planetary Science). I love to build things and I love to travel.   A couple little things

Hey all, A couple small things to share. You all know Brendan's awesome headlight mosaics, yes? Well, here's a small trinket box of the same concept. And for lack of a better Ralph Machio, and with apologies to Pat Morita, a little Bonsai tree. (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  The Flying Wing

After watching "Raiders" again for the umpteenth time, I made a quick sketch of the flying wing and then proceeded to build it (with Indy getting beaten up in the background). It was this plane that led me to the "prototypes" webpages and new ideas (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Mecha: "Centurion" Officer Mecha

(...) Hey Mladen! I'm always intrigued to see what's coming next from you. And for this latest installment, I'm pretty torn. I like the exaggerated "bigs and littles" on this one, like the huge feet and itty bitty waist, and I really dig the (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Cathedral remembered

hi Bruce, (...) Thanks for your compliment! (...) Same for me, but I tried to make them useful. (...) Same again here: I've kept it in one piece, so I can use it in my other cathedral (of which I will post some pictures this week, I hope). (...) (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.build)
