  Re: Mechanized Brick Down???

(...) Hi guys, My current web host is having major problems while trying to upgrade their server software to a new sytem, as a result, my site and e-mail have been completely offline since last week. I'm in the process of moving to another host and (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.military)

Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) I love the smell of bricks in the morning....nothing else in the world smells like that, son. Smells like......nostalgia. Thanks Chris...this project is a blast for that reason. Trying to find the vehicle you're talking about...can't seem to. (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) Yep...it will get you from 0 to Flashback in 4 seconds or less! Thanks for the kudos. Cheers, -Gil (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) LOL! Agreed....as were the Tele-vipers that were they're pilots in the commercial. How could you do anything with a visor flashing giant LED words an inch from your eyes? Again, cheers for the decal help. Cheers, -Gil BTW, this is also posted (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) Hehe...thanks Jon. It's a great tribute to the excellent designs of the early Joe stuff that they stand up well on their own. And aye...a flight pod would solve many of my traffic problems. As would the missles and big honkin pea-shooter. ;) (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) Thanks Joe! Because of it's small size, I really wanted to reduce the amount of showing studs on the finished product...they stand out so much on small MOC's. The Defiant is on the list....might be good justification for buying the new (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Schwerpunkt a.k.a Focal Point

Dave, I've uploaded some pics of my pathetic MOC to Brickshelf with special attention the use of the tubes. I apologize ahead of time for the crappy pics. This was just an exercise in joint tech and will probably never get finished. Hope it helps! (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: B.I. Joe: Cobra Flight Pod (Trubble Bubble)

(...) You can just smell the nostalgia...beautiful job G. I remember my Trubble Bubble - my 2nd favorite Cobra Vehicle, behind a big purple plane/chopper..can't remember what it was called... (URL) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Moonbase Module: Mauser Support Facility

Keith, I have no horse and I'm not high. I never said I was the arbiter of anything nor do I claim to be. You asked for unbiased opinions and you got mine. How can you possibly say you don't like it, Mr. Smack-Daddy? YOU ASKED FOR IT. And yes, Mark, (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: icosahedron in soccer-ball style

(...) Originally I thought of using 2x1 plates with one stud to get a 1/2 stud value, but your 6/5/5 idea is probably (much) better. The precise value is 6/5.1/5.1 so here the pentagons will be taut and flat. There is probably enough slack in the (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: icosahedron in soccer-ball style

(...) Thanks! I was very surprised at the strength of Steve's method of joining the triangles. If you're making something *really* large, you might have to brace each triangle with a second set of hinges on the corners. Don't know how well it shows (...)   Re: icosahedron in soccer-ball style

(...) Yup, I realize that now. Holding the big ball in your hands can really make those ideas clear! The problem is, how to do it within the limits of the "Lego System"? I want to experiment with other triangle sizes, and see what happens and what (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: JuggerGnat

(...) I have to say this is a very nice suit. Very good poseability. I definitelly see the influence of a lot of other suits I've seen, expecially some Japanese Lego builders. I have been studying the joint tech you used and may use it for the next (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Moonbase Module: Mauser Support Facility

Mmm... smack! Dig the MOC too, you know. Good to see you doin' some inside detailing. But there was no way around it this time, I suppose :) True the Mech is not brilliant, but it get's the job done. I tend to look at the Iron Reich in a USSR kind (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Poseable Horse Minifig Scale (or close enough)

Alan, My record is less than spotty, as I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I liked this one a lot so I thought I'd respond. As a fan of lego stop-motion-animation, this is desperately needed. Animating the LEGO horses is tough since they really (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

Re: Let me tell you about GSNOT

(...) Spiffy! So what's GSNOT??? XFUT to build because that's a way cool technique. Maybe I'll actually start to like those click hinges. Does it still work after you've worn the nubs off by repeated(1) exercising of the hinge? 1 - say, 100 times or (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: icosahedron in soccer-ball style

Hi John, (...) Sure I do ! You say in (URL) text> "But for some reason I didn't realize that the flat faces of the pentagons would line up with the ajoining hexagon" Actually the problem is that triangle in the pentagons should not be equilateral.
