They use the old hinges which are only a plate high, as detailing in models by having them stick out for things like eyebrows on people and now they won't be able to get them any (...) (...) I am not certain, but I think the first sets I saw with faces other than the standard yellow smiley were the first generation of Pirate sets (1989). These sets included the face you mention as well as the Redbeard face, the stubble with (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-03, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Does anybody know what was the first minifig face (not including the standard grin)? I was having a look around the usual resources and the lowest numbered set with a non-standard grin face is 6235 from 1989 which has the moustache and stubble (...) Chris, the Errol is very cool. I especially liked the Strider version. The legs really make the moc. Although I'm partial to exclusively dark gray/light gray color schemes, yours works well. The only suggestion/criticism I would make is that the (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

recently, i purchased a ToyFare magazine (#70 to be more precise) and in it i saw a preview of the new bionicle badies....they themselves look quite awesome, but the legs are the most interesting feature...they seem perfect for small scale (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
