  Re: Microscale MadCat

(...) Thanks Eric! I'm quite pleased with the articulation of this little beastie since it can allow for most any 'classic' pose the 'Cat has been depicted in. It doesn't approach the magnitude of your creations but, hey, I can handle it. Your (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale)

In lugnet.build.microscale, Andrew Saada writes: <snipped> (...) *grin* Thanks Andrew! I got finished with it and realized I thought it was just too darned cute to be a Cat. Maybe when it grows up. ;) The legs just seemed too plain and the droid (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: Minifig-scaled vehicles based on the M.A.S.K. toyline!

(...) When posting there you have to post a copy to another newgroup and set the followup there too! HTH! Like your creations although I don't know their "real life" counterparts being a Swede and not into comics/cartoons/action toys. Best regards, (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Another Transformer - Trixie

Jeremiah- Hi. When I saw Bitstream I was amazed! (Wasn't posting yet.) As Bruce said, your Transformers are outstanding! I had seen some sculptural and robot-mode renditions before but creations like yours are rare. Well I was perusing .Mecha and I (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Microscale MadCat

(...) Hehe (...) Joel, Kitten's got my tongue! ;-P I think you've nailed the design here. I especially like the structural aesthetic of the droid "arms". Glad you found some inspiration! ciao&salaam -Andrew Saada (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale)

  Power Armor

I've been playing with power armor ideas for a week or so. What started out as a tongue in cheek attempt at making armor something akin to Bubblegum Crisis, turned into creating a full squad of armored troops. Clearly there are similarities to (...)   Microscale MadCat

I guess it took the creation of a new group to inspire me to emerge from months of lurking and more than a year since sharing anything I've built to post some of my more recent creations. My most recent to be exact - started and finished tonight. (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

Re: Who's up for mech building?

(...) Mark, Hi. You have an interesting design here. I like the wider structure of the ankle in relation to that "tendon." I think those legs fit your example quite well! ;-) Looking forward to more pics and will hopefully be able to scrounge up the (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) Hmmm...I agree with most other replies, but my creative process really takes off when I follow this pattern... --I'm not inspired by Japanese Cartoons, though they ARE cool... --I'm not a huge fan of "forward" knees (like on a human), unless (...)   Re: Mecha - What do you need?

Plate Click Hinge, strong, very attachable, very hidable, hole in center good! Technic arm joint (super battle droid, UCS Naboo fighter stand) Also good, not as strong, axle hole and shape of core make a little awkward to use. Liking the plates with (...)   Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) 1- Music....Soft rock for medium-sized mechs, hard for the big boyz, rap for the lights, techno works for heavy/medium :<P 2- An overcast day always seems to make me way more creative. Dunno why, it just does. i like overcast days. 3- Time (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: PA004 Prototype

(...) That's some slick mini-hinge work. I love the hands-as-hip-joints, that's really quite clever. Wish I'd thought of it :) Adrian -- (URL) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: PA004 Prototype

That looks so cool, I always like the stuff you come up with. The Mini-fig parts have so many uses! Wow! e (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

hinge question (was Re: Mecha - What do you need?)

(...) How do you rate those things, particularly in comparison to ball joints? I've been looking at that set for a while, but all I really want are the hinges so I can't really justify it even at the AU$45 I can get it for now. Are they any good? (...)   Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) well, most of my mecha are under 6 inches tall so: Taps - I can't stress enough how useful I find these things for small hip and shoulder joints. Minifig megaphones 1x1 clip plates and tiles 1x1 headlight brick 1x1 round plates - my favourite (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: PA004 Prototype

David, I think those legs are great! It was hard to tell with it all black, but now that you have added the diagram and the link to your inspiration, I am going to steal that idea too! Keep pumping them out! t (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) I'd like to see the "Super Battle Droid" clickwheel hinge in more colours. It comes in black/dark grey in the Exo-Toa Armor-- let's get it in red/yellow/"real" blue/light grey too! More more more compound wedges and round slopes! More wedge (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mecha - What do you need?

(...) I use 1 x 2 handle plates, 1 x 1 vet and horz clip plates, neck brackets (just started using thanks to SW Minis and Kotaro), I use alot of 1 x 2 plates, and those headlight / camera bricks. t (22 years ago, 14-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
