  Re: Mechastruct Entry: T-9 Rhino

Thanks, Unfortunately, no it can't hold a mini-fig. I didn't really want to build to the minifig scale. That's why you won't find this on the normal Marsbase mecha pages. 8) This tank draws its' inspriation from the FMV of a certain mecha video (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: stiff balls

(...) I did try a layer of superglue (all I had to hand) and it seemed to work a little, but I suspect with another coat or two it might work. Nail polish sounds like a good idea. It probably goes on a bit thicker and I can get away with a single (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: articulation points?

(...) Exactly. Another way to look at DOF is that it is the number of things that have to be specified to define a particular configuration of the system. In other words how many RCX outputs does it take to drive. Another thing to keep in mind is (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic)

Hey cool stuff Tony! that hard suit looks really good, nice colours and very cool joint ideas there! I might have to steal them :P Your other stuff looks good too, keep it up! -Geordan- (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Mechastruct Entry: T-9 Rhino

Woah! That is AWESOME! such a clean design, those legs are so cool, and I love the turret can it fit a minifig? Great job Ben, yet another masterpiece. You have my vote on this one ;) -Geordan- (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) This is how the levers connect: (URL) first saw this a long time ago- I believe it was from a post that you wrote, Gil. It was about a few Japenese websites- and one of them had a cool semi-mecha that used the lever-joint idea. I belive the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Lame Parts II - Prizes

(...) Cool prizes! Really lame parts in both of those sets. Can't wait for my pics to get developed and the web page working. I want to see everyone else's creations! Josh (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: Lame Parts II - Prizes

(...) OK, I've picked out some suitably lame prizes. There was little selection at my local K-Mart of the above atrocities, but I have selected the following prizes for each category. Runner Up - (URL) Robot Diver from the Alpha Team theme. First (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: New GA! (well sort of new)

(...) For me, I just don't have any of the bionicle stuff to get started. I'm too busy with the regular brick projects these days :) -Anne (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: stiff balls

i found an idea posted by someone (i can't remember who) who mentioned that if you cut a small piece (about a centimeter) of a small rubber hose (like the pneumatic tubing only smaller) and place it in the socket, it increases friction substantially (...)   Re: articulation points?

(...) Here I go, tossing my 2 cents in to the fray: I would say that any differential drive on a flat surface has 3 DOF: -Assume it drives along the X axis (thats 1) -it can rotate around the Z axis (2 now) -once it rotates it can drive along the y (...)   Re: Lame Parts II - Let the building begin. (Re: football\soccer ball)

(...) Hi Allister, The lego football is not a standard number of bricks in diameter. It is rather difficult to get on something, but I guess that is what makes it a challenge. I managed to get two onto my ship using only lego and no rubber bands. (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

  stiff balls

Hi, I'm just stepping over from my regular haunt at .space to ask a small question of you mecha gurus. Has anyone figured out a way to stiffen up ball joints? Would roughening them up with a bit of sandpaper work do you think. Less destructive (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
