  Re: Straight-driving car

(...) Yeah, it is, but in order for it to be able to correctly map the house, without making the whole map screwed up, it needs to be able to drive perfectly straight. (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)

  9V Micromotor

I bought a 6979 Interstellar Starfighter recently on a substantial discount recently for about $38 USD, which seemed like a pretty good deal considering it had some fiber optic stuff and a micro motor. After building and trying it out I found that (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Straight-driving car

(...) One idea would be to use treads and an adder-subtracter device: (URL). This is kind of bulky, but it will eliminate the problem with the motors being mismatched. It's pretty difficult to do this actually -- perfectly straight is a tall order. (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)

  Straight-driving car

I'm building an RCX robot that maps the house with some help from the computer. My problem is this: I need to create a car that will drive perfectly straight and also be able to make precise turns without having to move forward while turning. I have (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Halloween Lego Design Contest Reminder and Update

Hi Mathew! Just to let you know, I've been working dilegently on an entry for your contest since your July 31 post. I hope to have it done in the next few weeks, with a week or more after that for pictures and putting it up on my website. Brian (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

Lego reuses good ideas. The Maersk set sleeper cab is also 5 wide. Also, I believe one of my favorite tow trucks has a 5 wide equipment bed: (URL) recall getting a bunch of these when S@H was blowing them out in early 1998. Aspiring builders of 5 (...) (...) I'll have to track a copy down then. I remember they did this with the Indy Transport (my brother has it) but he lost the instructions to it and I haven't bothered to look for them on kl.net (soon to be the brickshelf).   New Addition to Marsbase

Hello! After a *very* long period of lurking, I wanted to step out of the shadows for a moment to let everyone know I posted a new Mecha on the Marsbase site. The Ronin is the latest entry to the Marsbase stables. I've only got the gallery page (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Redesigned website finally online!

YES, YES, YES!!!!! It has finally arrived!!! :-) I love it Bram. A couple things that stood out at me: 1. There are no pages for the last three Ice Planet vehicles. 2. The text you used for the hyperlinks is cool, but hard to read at that size. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish, lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

Halloween Lego Design Contest Reminder and Update

Hello Lego Community! Well, here it is the first of September and in most parts of the country the first hints of the Fall have begun.   Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) You may already know this, Will, but Lego's current Idea Book (which is pretty lame overall) has instructions for a semi cab which has a 4-wide driving cab and a 5-wide rear (sleeping?) cab. I just built it today, by coincidence. It's not bad. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) This would involve using regular tiles and the 1x2 tiles with a single stud to serve as a "bed" to place an offset 3,5,or 7 wide body upon.
