  Re: IP2002 blather

(...) I'm not competing, but thanks for checking it out. Cool page BTW. The use of the grid background makes me think of 8 and 16 bit video games. I like the puffy snow logo too. With all the quotes and MOCs, you seem to be having almost too much (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build)

  IP2002 blather

Just poping this note in here to blather about IP2002 stuff. My Ice Planet page(NCE) (URL) pictures of Balloon Buggie, more soon. Adrian I like the Spike, very nice. Maybe sticky stuff like those wall climbing toys on the wheels? Ice Worm nice work (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Greek gods

(...) Thank you. :-) (...) The torso of Hepaestus is actually the back of the double sided Green Goblin torso from studio set #1374 Green Goblin. IMO, the back is a neat as the front. His head is from the Riverboat captain from Adventurers set #5976 (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Greek gods

(...) Leah - great job on the plastic gods. I really like your project of creating mini-fig versions of a range of deities from the same pantheon. My favorites are your depictions of Ares (great use of the torso) and Zeus (done up in the purple - (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Greek gods

(...) Thanks. :-) (...) They are from the Belville set #5825 The Fairy Queen's Magical House ((URL) The set comes with a flower wheel that includes two of those flowers and two of the daisy type flowers in the right side of this picture: (URL) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Greek gods

(...) see your announcement so I could comment on it. My favorite details are the legs of Artemis and Apollo, the winged feet of Hermes, and Zeus' thunderbolt. What were the sources of Hephaestus' torso and head, Hermes' legs, and those blue (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Railing prototype for heavy cruiser

(...) What I do is build the general curve around the blocky basis of the hull--you know, a vertically straight horizontal curve. Then I build the curve outward on that. It does mean that my internal order is square; but it also means that I can use (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

New Fire Apparatus Pics, 6 wides

Many have wondered where I have been, and why nothing new. Well, busy I have been, and there is plenty new. Well, most are of existing trucks, and several with various changes. What I have done though, under a recent challenge, is take pics of EVERY (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.build, lugnet.town, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.general) !

Re: Ice Planet Contest Entry: Glacial Spike

(...) That's an interesting idea. However, that'd make the wheel sections too wide. Maybe the wheels have some sort of force field to hold them on the ice for traction, or they have microscopic spikes like Spider-man's fingers. This is science (...)   Re: Greek gods

Leah Cardaci wrote in message ... (...) Excellent Leah! I love 'em! I especially like Athena (the owl is perfect) and Artemis. Where do the blue flowers that Kore is holding come from? I haven't seen them before. Kevin ---...--- NEW shopping mall (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Railing prototype for heavy cruiser

(...) Interesting. I've been trying to figure out a stable solution for strange curves like that for my next wet-navy project... this might be what I'm looking for. Hmm... (...) Small favors, eh? : ) Kenneth Tam (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Railing prototype for heavy cruiser

(...) The obvious solution for me is a frame-by-frame construction, with each stud being rendered into a "frame." So I'll be building the flare out SNOTwise below deck level. I have frame-by-frame diagrams of _Takao_ which shall be adequate. It's (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Railing prototype for heavy cruiser

(...) LFB, I've had a very simular idea for handrails on a boat model i've got in the planning stages right now. Glad to see great minds thinking alike! Derek Hawkins (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Ice Planet Contest Entry: Glacial Spike

(...) I love the model but have one concern. Cycles + Ice = bad. Now I admit, the wheels are wide .. but still .. 8-) Now if you have a few larger gears that you could place in between the two rims to act as "spikes" for traction .. now were (...)   Re: Ice Planet Contest Entry: Glacial Spike

(...) My goodness, it's getting to be a little creepy, isn't it? We don't share a brain, do we? I hope not, because that'd be a little disturbing :) Glad you like this, and I hope to see what you've created soon! Adrian (22 years ago, 16-May-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: Ice Planet Contest Entry: Glacial Spike

(...) No, no, no! I will not stand for this anymore! This makes three times, Adrian. I built an Ice Planet turbocycle last weekend for the contest, and haven't had the opportunity to photograph it yet (tomorrow, hopefully). I hate you. :-) BTW, (...)   Greek gods

I was inspired to create figs of the Greek deities. The folder is at: (URL) tried to give a hint of their personality and match characteristics.   Re: Railing prototype for heavy cruiser

(...) Dear me, either way you go you'll have lovely heavy cruiser for yourself. Have you thought of how to deal with that bow flare yet? It's got an awful curve to it by all appearances! I've said before, I'll say it again: I can't *wait* to see (...) (22 years ago, 16-May-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

Re: The Minifig Generator is back, and ready for more

(...) Hm. Have you looked at .png? Given the solid-colorness of the average minifig part, .png might be a bit more efficient-- and when you're shovelling around 800 meg of minifig a day, every little bit counts. Follow-ups pointed at off-topic.geek. (...) (22 years ago, 15-May-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)
