Maybe the wheels have some sort of force field to hold them on the ice for traction, or they have microscopic spikes like Spider-man's fingers. This is science (...) Given the solid-colorness of the average minifig part, .png might be a bit more efficient-- and when you're shovelling around 800 meg of minifig a day, every little bit counts.
