  Re: THE FOUNDRY . . .

(...) The beam sabers are from the large deluxe transforming Gundam toys. It's fits pretty nice into a Lego piece surprisingly enough. The escala was kind of a test model. I'm working on a huge epic story type project which kind of combines old (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Mini-fig Bike

(URL) a small model I came up with. I was inspired by the motorcycle seen in the anime _Akira_, and by [1] Kotaro Ono's scooters and a motorcylce [2] Ben Vaughan designed about three years ago. If anyone wants to use or modify this basic design, (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

  Re: best mech pilots

(...) But can they wear helmets? Do they even need space helmets? I'm rather partial to the Rock Raiders Jets minifig as a mech pilot, but then that's just because I really like that minifig :) She pilots almost all of my vehicles. Adrian (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Bucke Wheel Excavator (ISCC entry)

(...) <snip> Absolutely incredible. I saw the thing on Discovery Channel one night, and your model is equally impressive. Well done! ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head -- Mark's Lego Creations (URL) (23 years ago, 2-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: best mech pilots

(...) Monkeys also fit in a 2-wide space. They'd make plausible pilots, with basically four hands and a prehensile tail. And let's face it- who doesn't want a race of superintelligent space monkeys piloting his mechs? -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: Z-22 Mobile Defence Platform

(...) Exactly! Greeblies for greeblies sake ends up with something that looks like a pile of clutter. Even when you use lots of them, you've got an art in making everything look like it should really be there, even if it is a shovel in most other (...)   Re: best mech pilots

(...) You know what? I was just thinking of the same thing. I recently picked up a 2001 Racers set, and despite the overall sillyness of the set, it did occour to me that the little 2X2 monster driver would make a passable alien mech pilot, and take (...)   advice?

One more question, Do you great builders of MOC's plan your mecha before you build? BTW if you want me to shut up till I show my talent( not saying you will or anything) just tell me, and I'll try. It's kind of hard not to comment. Oz (23 years ago, 2-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  best mech pilots

Just wondering, what do you think are the best pilots for mechs. I just got a the LOM RPP and the alien is only 2 studs wide, making it comepletely unnesessary to make room for the arms, same with the battle droids(they can be used for other things (...)   Re: New MOC: Z-22 Mobile Defence Platform

(...) Thanks Adrian! I tryed to use less (way less) greebles on this mecha, than on the MSP. Too much doesn't always make the model look better, unless you're say Mark Sandlin or Paul Hanson, then you can use as much as you want and end up with a (...)   Re: THE FOUNDRY . . .

(...) This is an extremely well designed web page! How do you get your pictures so that there's nothing in the background? I'm still trying to get cleaner backgrounds on my images, but it's a difficult process. Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (23 years ago, 2-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: THE FOUNDRY . . .

Sun: WOW! After just a cursory glance, it was evidnet that the Foundry is the most stylin' of lego sites, with models to match! Simply stated, the clean design and professional MOCs make for a killer combo-- I'm envious, jealous, and inspired! I (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

This must be one of your larger creations, and yet the overall composition is not diminished by the increased real estate. Man! Going back to see it (...)   Click turntable.

Maybe this isn't news to anyone but me. but I discovered (after taking apart my Alpha team underwater mech) that the 2x2 with technic pin on bottom has little click tabs and fits into the arm socket boxes as a click turntable. I atempted to redesign (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO tools

(...) Hi Ross, Weren't some tools like these shown in the backcovers of some 80's Technic sets? I sort of recall having used some tool like the first one to "expell" stuck parts (poor english, I hope you get the idea of what I'm trying to write). (...)
