(...) The 4x1 rack has ten teeth, so you can calculate five links for every four studs of length as a general rule. Fredrik (25 years ago, 11-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Technic Tread links

Hello Have you checked the 856 bulldozer? this one uses 40 tooth gears, and are 14 holes appart, axle holes included. This one uses 50 peaces per tread. The 8851 uses even more, but this tread also goes over two 16 tooth gears. You can check the (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Solar Power & LEGO

Ben Fleskes wrote in message ... (...) Realistically, the load when you try to drive a couple of motors off your RCX is such that solar cells are not a Lego option. 9V at 300mA per motor means you need about 6W coming in. To get that reliably (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Technic Tread links

I bought that set of tread links recently. N779938 - 36 x Conveyor belt links - $6.25 Actually I received 40 links! But I still think that's way expensive... I had enough to make a tread using 2 24-tooth gears spaced 12 holes apart (including the (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Technic Tread links

Here's a rough way to calculate your own answer. Each link takes up 2 teeth. So to make treads using 24T gears, figure 24 links for the ends, then measure axle centerto axle center and measure using the rack pieces how many teeth that is. I think, (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

  Technic Tread links

I've been looking at the technic tread links available from Pitsco and have one question about them. How many links does it take to make a decent set of treads? For example, how many links are used to make a tread with 24-tooth gears at the ends and (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Help id pieces and possible sets

Thanks for the leads on the red 1x2 brick. I checked them out and the first 4 of those sets are way to huge for what I have. Pause Magazine does not have a picture for 5187, but I only have *1* of these bricks, so any set with 12 (like 5187 and (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Help id pieces and possible sets

There are about 250-300 or so pieces left, with the specialty pieces being mostly grey or yellow. What bugs me is the number of minifigs for which there need to be sets relative to the total number of pieces. I know from the prior owner that there (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Hello Brian, I haven't taken a look at your page, but I think I know of a few pieces which pieces you mean.   Re: non- shooting shooting cannons?

This is OT, sorry. As far as I know, that's actually an urban legend. A very popular one though.   Re: Solar Power & LEGO
