Re: New MOC: Moller M400 Skycar

(...) The racer variant has better engines (teaser - I used the grey barrels from the UCS X-Wing).... I tried to reverse the direction of the 2x2 cylinders in this model to make the nacelle front look more "open", but I couldn't find a way to do it (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Moller M400 Skycar

(...) 2-3-4-5 is the width variation "stacked" on top of each other (or stacked "sideways" since there is a lot of SNOT). In this picture you can see spacing widths of 6,5,4,3,2 and 1 stud width, all centered along the vertical axis, and all (...) (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

  Mercedes-Benz Actros

Hi@all! The german AFOL Marcel Kaster built a large-scale model of a Mercedes Benz Actros Truck. Unfortunately he gave me no more informations about his model and the construction, just the pictures for upload them as a gallery. But these are really (...)   Re: Narrow "Dutch" buildings.

(Dit berichtje wordt in Engels getekend, voor de mensen die .boats en .build lezen.) (...) Hey, Frank, I've never seen ANY of that stuff before! It looks excellent. What among it is yours? All of it, or just some? But this caught my eye: (URL) (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.build, lugnet.loc.nl)

RE: New MOC: Moller M400 Skycar

(...) I agree...I think the engines should be a little bigger also, but I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish that. If only LEGO made a larger variety of cylinder sizes...1.5 and 3 stud diameters would be great! --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: Moller M400 Skycar

snippage Ohh cool! that looks great! lot's of SNOT too, great job, I think the engines should be a little more defined though... -Geordan- (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

RE: New MOC: Moller M400 Skycar

(...) Great interpretation! All the SNOT is quite admirable. What do you mean by 2-3-4-5 transformations? Width changes? Mind sharing any innovative techniques you came up with? I look forward to your variant too! --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Narrow "Dutch" buildings.

These may be what you are looking for: (URL) Dorst also has his own (Dutch) home put into Lego: (URL) luck with your designs! I'm basically in the same boat as you.... realistic details with a reasonable amount of bricks. I have about 4 buildings of (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  New MOC: Moller M400 Skycar

I have completed a minifig scale version of the M400 Skycar by Moller International. (URL) model contains various SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques, with several 2-3-4-5 and "half stud" transformations in a small space. The front nacelles and nose (...)   Narrow "Dutch" buildings.

For the past 6 months, I have avoided this newsgroup ( lugnet.build.arch ) , on the basis that building things with arches was a bit restrictive, and anyway, I don't have enough arches to do anything interesting. But now, I see that "arch" is short (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

Hm. Dan, your point is valid, I think, but not what Larry was referring to. To my way of thinking, the buildings -should- have been (but were not) posted to lugnet.trains. They were instead posted to lugnet.trains.org (among others). Larry's point (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

Re: Request for help: bomber gun turrets

(...) My solution swivels, but doesn't pivot up and down. I figured that was just too hard to do in Lego. --Bill. (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Asimov Terrestrial Explorer

(...) That was one of the toughest things about this model, using my admittedly limited supply of trans blue pieces to open things up. I'm particularly pleased with the way the cockpit turned out. I had also thought about using a secondary color in (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: New Moc: Asimov Terrestrial Explorer

WOW! Now this is a beautiful model! ;-) I simply *love* the clean design Adrian! And the tracks look very cool; better than wheels. The interior is excellent, as well as the overall colour scheme. I commend you for using only one trans colour for (...) (23 years ago, 23-Sep-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

Actually, Larry, it can be viewed as most appropriate of John Neal to post to .train. I kindly direct you to model rr mags which routinely feature articles on buildings related to train layouts. As John is a regular trainbuilder, surely this (...) (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains)

  Midnight MOCkery Contest

Midnight MOCkery is a building contest open to anyone who would like to answer the question; what would “gothic” LEGO look like? I feel that this contest will point some builders in new directions creatively. And what better time to try it than now (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) Thanks, Brad, and of course, you are absolutely correct. I do plan on one day finishing the interior, but I was just too excited about building more buildings at the time and so just I forged on to newer things. Thing is, when you start a (...)   RE: New MOC: 8 wide Lotus Esprit S4

(...) Well, it's either a slightly hollowed out look or the hollow studs, which I don't like much either. (...) Heheh...it's not a '77 Lotus though :) I think you'd have to go to a slightly bigger scale to make it convert (12 or 16 wide?) I'd love (...) (23 years ago, 22-Sep-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

Looks nice. The see-through nature of the thin-walls make it seem a little too "empty" though. I know how you feel about exteriors coming before interiors, but you might want to try doing a little something, perhaps in the lobby, just to make it (...)
