  Re: New Mecha: The Shikari

Good looking mecha! I like the red fins. Although others don't agree I like the clear window cockpit (not being a big cockpit fan anyway cause all my stuff is too small for 'em). Anyway keep 'em coming & thanks for sharing. Bryce (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Object lesson in bad photography

I dunno...the black looks good to me...real good. More importantly what scares me is that you have a fully done Gundam sitting around "gathering dust". What's up with that? You got more? :-) Later, Bryce (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Hoverthing entry

Well, here's my entry for the hoverthing contest. The pics can be found at: (URL) an 1880's flopper, the kind seen in movies about early flight expiraments. The kind we look at today and think "that never would have flown". It's exactly 20x30 studs (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.contests)

  Re: Ball & socket joints.

(...) Hi John, Here's the rundown: Bionicle is the first time Lego decided to go with black socket parts as their main color. White (Kopaka) and Blue (Gali) are also available via the six main sets. Howeverm with either of these sets you'll get 4 (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: First World War German Dreadnought: SMS Friedrich der Grosse

(...) Well, the modernist 1880-1920s would definitely be your period, I'd bet. :) There's something about the tentativeness of all that period's designs--nothing could be standard, because it was all changing so *quickly* that even standardization (...)   Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) I don't exactly call 'record losses in fiscal year 2000' a profit. I'll be frank here, LEGO® has to dumb down their new sets and make them with SPUDS to turn the fast buck. And the winning formula worked from their beginning right up to (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01

(...) Glad to be of service, Mark. Cool mecha- I really dig the cockpit and head design. Nice use of the drills on the cheeks. Later, Todd Amacher SILICON PSYCHE (URL) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Ball & socket joints.

I have a question about the colors for the ball and socket joints. do they make grey (light or dark) sockets and or balls. (the ball by itself not when it is part of a larger piece*) I have a number of black ball and socket joints in a mech that I (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build.mecha)

  A good weekend for mecha

Hey everyone, I took an long (for me!) vacation and drove to Chicago for five days, and I missed all the fun here! I felt the threads were too old to comment on individually, but I was (naturally) impressed with all the new offerings-- especially (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: The Shikari

(...) Newbie speaking here, hold your fire please ;) Pretty darn nifty... I wouldn't worry overmuch about your use of a transparent cockpit. After all, how the heck is the pilot going to see out when the computers crash? (Of course, one might (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: The Shikari

(...) Hi Joel, That's pretty darn good. It seems to have a decent shape to it. The wingy bits on the back look good. I'd like to see better pictures of the torso and maybe the cockpit, however. Thanks for sharing. :^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)
