RE: New MOC: 8 wide VW Beetle

(...) Er, if the minifigs are required to sit in the seats, then you can fit just one. Looks like I didn't leave enough head room in the back :/ (...) Thanks! --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (URL) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

RE: New MOC: 8 wide VW Beetle

(...) Wow, thanks! (...) Not yet :) (...) It is red. I don't know if I have the 8 arches necessary to build it in a different color. I seem to have a habit of photographing red and making it look orange... --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (URL) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

RE: New MOC: 8 wide VW Beetle

(...) Thanks! They are minifig chairs. Since I didn't want to use up the 2x3 stud footprint usually required for each non-prefabricated chair, and since VW seats are small and unsupportive, I decided to use the minifig chairs. --Bram Bram Lambrecht (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: New Model Instructions @ Silicon Psyche (6/8/01)

(...) Todd's shocktroopers are my favorite! And as I've said before the droid host idea is one of my favorites also. (...) 16??? Now I'm curious. (...) About time I let you know again too Todd. Great work! And now as always back to my newest (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: New Model Instructions @ Silicon Psyche (6/8/01)

(...) enjoy. I've been checking out your site for a while now; this morning was the first time I went through and tracked down all of the mecha. Man, this stuff rules!!! I really like your shocktroopers; they are among the most innovative mechs I've (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: LEGO skyscrapers

Great job Eric!! You and Henry built some great skyscrapers. And your skyscrapers should be made into a poster and sent to TLC..... to show them that we (AFOLs) need windows!!!...!!! I wish LD and LTC would stop being so miserly with windows. (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: N x 16 plates

Jason, It is possible to connect baseplates into a larger structure, you just can't attach to the bottom of the baseplate, as you said. You can attach to the top of the baseplates... If you build a wall that is at least 2 wide, and is larger than (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: RG Mech Completed!!!

Thanks guys, I guess when I say that my Mechs are non-violent it seems kinda contradictory when I make them with long Claws, Natural adatations. I built RG as a release from building the Big-Mech-bot. The big mech bot is so complicated and hard to (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: N x 16 plates

6x16, AFAIK - both plates with studs all over, and plates with studs only on the perimeter of 3 sides. Unless the grandstands are REALLY heavy, you can just surround the top of the locker room with 2x16 plates on 2 sides and misc plates on the other (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

  N x 16 plates

I've been working on a stadium with the soccer stadium sets. I've decided that I need to elevate the grandstands to create a locker room for the teams below them. Currently the grandstands sit on 16 x 16 baseplates, which can't be used as the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO skyscrapers

Yes, actually the buildings were all almost completely hollow. They were obviously strong enough to support themselves, but I had to be careful as they got taller. The red building's roof is set upon a few cross-struts that were 7 rows of 2x6 (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

(...) Ahhh! A classic fight your fate story line. (...) Okay I feel silly for asking :-D (...) And wonderful backstories they are! Bryce (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO skyscrapers

Very impressive. Were the taller buildings structurally strong? It looks like the largest building was four walls with an open interior -- did the walls bow in or out? I like Henry's white temple building quite a bit. The whole thing is inspiring. (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

Bram, Dude, you rock! As usual. Very cool. And, with a little modification, you could turn it into a Citroen 2CV. James Wilson, Dallas, TX (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)
