Re: And now a lovely beverage (was Re: Golden Gate Bridge cables)

(...) I can only think of two types: The ones that came in the Train sets used trans-yellow 2x2 cylinder bricks, and the single basic set with these type of lamp posts had trans-yellow minifig heads. I don't think there were any other sets that (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

Alright, I'll put in my 2 cents worth (incessant ramblings...) about minifig accessories (since I do loathe minifigs so - no wait, their heads do make such great gothic pinnacles for cathdral towers....). Anyway, those really old 1x1 round bricks (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: And now a lovely beverage (was Re: Golden Gate Bridge cables)

(...) Hmm. I don't know. In my head, I see just a 1x1 with a stem. For me, that wouldn't work as a glass bottle, but maybe it looks like something else, like a waterbottle with one of those really long straws. Actually, those "sportsbottles" would (...) (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) I like that. On top of a black or green one, a light sabre hilt might make it look like a champagne bottle. -Tom McD. when replying, friends don't let friends drink and eat spamcake. (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Or stick a light-sabre hilt on top of the 1x1 round. The chrome is just the label. Steve (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

[ I deleted the message I actually wanted to respond to, so this is in the wrong part of the thread. Sorry. ] For long-necked bottles, what about pushing a short piece of technic tubing through the hole in a 1x1 round? --Bram (25 years ago, 29-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Hmm. Interesting. I guess that would be the piece, or if you could bring yourself to cleanly cut a chalice base off, put the chalice on the bottom of a round 1x1 and turn the whole thing upside down. But I don't do surgery. (...) I've done (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Hmm. Irish cooffee, eh? That explains your drnking problem. :) For regular coffee and hot chocolate I use the minifig mugs with handles. But maybe black 1x1's would be good for Guiness in cans. -Tom McD. (25 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: And now a lovely beverage (was Re: Golden Gate Bridge cables)

(...) Belville sets use a 1x1 cone on top of a 1x1 cylinder. Not very long-neckish, but it doesn't require major surgery, either. Steve (25 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: And now a lovely beverage (was Re: Golden Gate Bridge cables)

(...) When reading this, an idea just popped into my head. I've nver done Lego surgery before but with a craft knife, you could cut the side bar off one of the faucet/tap/lamp base pieces, and stick it onto a 1x1 cylinder and have a fair rendition (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) LOL! Great list!! (...) Well, cooffee, duh! That's what I'm drnking right now. Oh wait, you said non-alc. --Todd (25 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

And now a lovely beverage (was Re: Golden Gate Bridge cables)

(...) Definitely red 1x1's for Coke. white for Diet coke or Diet Dr Pepper. Yellow I've used for Mountain Dew or Squirt. Green for 7-up or Sprite, Blue for RC Cola. Brown for Root Beer, Mug, maybe. For any non-alc beverages, has anyone ever used (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Off the top of my head, I think they were 2x2 cylinders. (...) I wish I had more than just two. They're more useful as decoration when the studs can be seen, and they make better cans of soda for Minifigs! ;) Jeff (25 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Golden Gate Bridge cables

Well, I haven't been to LEGOLAND California yet, but the 1x1 cylinder bricks have a hole in the top of each brick (where the "LEGO" logo is supposed to be), and you could string them together. The 1x1 cylinder bricks (one of my all time favorites), (...) (25 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

  Golden Gate Bridge cables

I was just looking at the pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge on Tom Stangl's Legoland Carlsbad pic site: (URL) was wondering what the bridge cables were made from. Is it plastic, rubber? Does anyone know if there is a cylindrical hollow element that (...) (25 years ago, 27-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)
