  new moc: motorized ice skating castle
 
(URL) inspired by the motorized mocs of mcbricker (barbara werth): (URL) pavillion of dancing> and peter edwards: (URL) dodgem cars>, i wanted to combine my interest in architectural mocs with movement. i had read about an outdoor ice castle rink (...) Deborah: Kudos to you for getting this to work! I had a terrible time trying to do this a few years ago ((URL) ) the thickness of the "ice" (or "road" in my case) coupled with the friction of the tiles and the strength of the magnets, agh! (...) thank you, barbara. i'm glad you enjoyed it. finding a decently scaled ice skate for the minifigs was a challenge, but the levers don't like being squeezed into the lever base and i've gone through a lot of "blades". good thing the ice is (...) (17 years ago, 2-Apr-08, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) thanks, dave! actually the teeth weren't put on the roof as icicles, more like some victorian decorative element, but icicles works for me! as for the moving part, yeah, i felt the peer pressure to bring something to toronto that didn't just (...)
