More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

Hi All, I completed 3 more building facades completed for Detroit. I think I have two more to go and then I am done. A few highlights: Maerske blue (I used quite a few of the 1x6 inverse slopes to get the 1x1 striping effect in the facade), dark (...) (...) Thanks, Jason. I am very happy with that aspect as well. I built the cornices for that building as well as the dark orange building well before the buildings themselves. I have actually had the cornice for the dark orange building built for (...) (18 years ago, 25-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

(...) Well I'm forward to meeting a lot of AFOLs and train folks, seeing how the NMRA Train show at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit is only 12 miles from my house! :-) Great work Jonathan! I'll be sure to bring my camera! One other builder who will (...) (18 years ago, 25-Apr-07, to lugnet.town)

(...) Thanks, Gary! (...) Yes, I am looking forward to saying hello to Jim again, myself. We met last year at NMRA in Philly which I was able to attend for a few hours one day. His buildings are really remarkable to see in person. Best, Jonathan (18 years ago, 26-Apr-07, to lugnet.town)

(...) Gary Istok.. as in Gistok? Funny, between lugnet, simtropolis (simcity forums) and DYES you see how many Detroiters have taken their love of the city to whole new levels. -mdoyle (18 years ago, 28-Apr-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

(...) I can't wait to see you and everyone else at the NMRA. It could be the most spectactular Lego train show yet. Your buidings are the most amazing combination of color and detail that I have yet seen. While I was conscious of the importance of (...) (18 years ago, 28-Apr-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

Very nice! (even by your high standards). I always find myself looking forward to your next MOC with an interest I rarely show in town models. As usual the colour combinations and details are brilliant. My only small quibble would be the window (...) (18 years ago, 29-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

(...) Thanks, Jim. Paying attention to the brick sizes kind of happened by accident. It was when the sand red bricks came out. I bought only 1x2's and 2x2's and used only them and discovered the pattern that I really liked. Looking forward to NMRA! (...) (18 years ago, 30-Apr-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: More buildings for NMRA in Detroit

(...) Thanks very much, Nathan. I agree with your comments on the lower level of the dark orange building. The black lintels look very blocky. I might revisit it at some point and maybe get 3 more of the Znap pieces to make it all uniform. Thanks (...) (18 years ago, 30-Apr-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)
