    F-16N Viper MOC —Ralph Savelsberg
A few weeks ago Ryan Parrish introduced his new F-16 Fighting Falcon MOC to lugnet: (URL) had a bit of a discussion about it, in which I announced that I too had plans to build an F-16 as well. Guess what? It is finished and can be seen on: (URL) (...) (18 years ago, 23-Jul-06, to lugnet.announce.moc) !!

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Ka-On Lee
Very nice! Great job with the colour scheme, landing gears and nose. You can also call that IAF scheme and put weapons on it. My only suggestion is this part in new dark gray is perfect for the engine exhaust: (URL) (18 years ago, 23-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) Thanks for the compliment. For an IAF aircraft (very much in the news right now) I think I would have to replace the sand-blue with sand-green. If I wanmted to mount weapons it would have to be an F-16C from the The Hellenic (=Greek) Air (...) (18 years ago, 24-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Tim Courtney
(...) Wow! Any chance to get LDrawn instructions? -Tim (18 years ago, 24-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) Hi Tim, Thanks for the reply. I'm not a heavy user of any of the LEGO CAD software. I've dabbled around a bit with LDRAW/MLCAD, but it is not my cup of tea. I might consider 'building' my F-16 with virtual LEGO if I run out of parts or ideas (...) (18 years ago, 24-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Magnus Lauglo
Ralph, Very nice indeed, and an interesting camo scheme too! It is always interesting to see how different builders approach modeling the same thing in their own way. I do like how you pulled off the landing gear - I always found that challenging (...) (18 years ago, 24-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) Hi Magnus, Thanks for the reply. I'm glad that you like my F-16. As I wrote before, when trying to build realistic models with LEGO you always have to compromise, since you simply cannot reproduce all the difficult shapes you'll find on an (...)         Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Leigh Holcombe
(...) Nice plane, Ralph. I know how tough camo is. And the landing gear is especially cool. As a technic-impaired builder, I'd like to learn how you did that. Perhaps closeup photos and a blow-by-blow breakdown of the building process would be (...) (18 years ago, 24-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) <snip> (...) Hi Leigh, Thanks for the feedback. The camo was tough, but turned out okay. I'm no hard-core Technic builder myself. I admire people who build cars with working gearboxes and pneumatic engines or machines that can actually walk, (...) (18 years ago, 25-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Justin Vaughn
Impressive build. I especially like your solution to the nose, which seems to be a sticking point for so many. You also pulled off a camoflage look very well (something I doubt I'll ever be brave enough to try, piece limit or no), and as mentioned (...) (18 years ago, 27-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Ralph Savelsberg
(...) Hi Justin, Thanks for the comments. Many people have mentioned the aircraft's nose. The nose on any jet is a very hard bit to get right (just look at LEGO's new Boeing 787 and you'll see what I mean). I have quite a few of those curved wedges, (...)         Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Ralph Savelsberg
Yesterday I added new pictures of the landing gear: (URL) this makes the gear's operation a bit more clear. Cheers, Ralph (18 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: F-16N Viper MOC —Mattias Martensson
(...) Hi Ralph Thanks for these new pictures explaining the tricky landing gear assembly. Your F-16 is really great! I like the colour scheme of course, the nose section, engine intake and the over all proportions. To improve the model even further (...) (18 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.build.military)
