Hi,

Had some time off this week and decided to slap this one together. It is heavily inspired by the GeeBee air-racer of the 30’s and a fish I ate the other day.

While the overall shape is not terribly aerodynamic, with the straight wings and all, I really wanted something that would look a future/retro -- and a straight wing is the way to go. Anyway I have as yet not been able to build a satisfactorily realistic swoop back wing. Nevertheless, I like the straight wing (un-like my wife who thinks it is chunky).

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

(...) I like it! The curved front on the wing really gives it the aeroplane look. (...) Is is. Is that bad????? ROSCO (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Sweet! Nice landing gear. But it's gotta be a bugger to land and taxi! ;] (...) Well, as long as you don't expect it to go very fast, the straight wing looks okay. But you can forget about high subsonic speeds. Or just claim that the wings (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)

(...) I would say you achieved that in a superb way. At least the retro thing is the first thought I when I looked at it. I like the fact that it looks tough. It looks like it could take some punishment during a long hard flight. (...) In this case (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) So slick, so tasty... I love it. And I'm always impressed by wheeled gear that folds completely inside. The transition between the main part of the engines and the exhaust portion seems a bit clunky, but only because the rest is sooo smooth. (...) (20 years ago, 26-Mar-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Brent I have a problem with your ships: I want to build all of them in minifig scale... and this one is no exception! I love the overall structural simplicity of this ship: one wing, two engines, and one cockpit / canopy. Beautiful. And yet you (...) (20 years ago, 26-Mar-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Wow, that is really interesting! I really like the way you build. More! e (20 years ago, 29-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)

(...) A few days late, due to the weekend and being ill yesterday, but made MOC Highlight. Excellent work, Brent. Your technic-fig scale stuff has been very interesting to watch as it develops. All of the MOCs have been excellent, but it seems that (...) (20 years ago, 29-Mar-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)
