  Satan Tempts Jesus

The Brick Testament has been updated today with a new illustrated story from the Gospels: Satan Tempts Jesus. (URL) for the "hell" of it, I also decided to add a couple of Satan appearances to the Last Supper story. The two new panels are these: (...)   Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

Great stuff as always, Brendan. (...) I like the wolf. For some reason that design looks more blocky when the wolf is standing, but in this reposed position the blockyness is minimized. The duck is cute but a little too rectangular. Nice Satan (...) (21 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

If I may... As most people, I love your creations. Although I've said in the past I don't read your website because I don't like any religion, I have recently taken a great pleasure in keeping up to date with all your updates. I enjoy your creations (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

(...) Thanks, Bruce. (...) He is sort of blocky, isn't he? I may have to figure out a redesign for the wolf. (...) I'm not sure I can do any better on the duck. @8^) (...) Thanks. One of the reasons I had originally skipped over the Satan Tempts (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

(...) Not too long after putting the new material online, I got an e-mail from somebody asking "why does Satan always eneter from the rear?" I don't know if I have the qualifications to answer a theological question like that. (...) Thanks, Dave. (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Casting Satan and Jesus for The Brick Testament

(...) Please do. (...) Thanks for saying so, Terry. (...) No matter what sort of visage I chose for Satan in The Brick Testament, I knew that it would not please everybody. Choosing a Satan was a lot trickier than choosing, say, Jesus or God, (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX) !

  Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

Excellent again. I love the fact that I'm never quite sure what to think of this, but the modelling is always brilliant. I love the attention to detail, and I'm always trying to pick out the right expression for my minifigs. (...) I must admit the (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: Casting Satan and Jesus for The Brick Testament

(...) I'm happy with the choice of Satan, altho I prefer a larger, more beastial depiction. Perhaps I can suggest using different versions of Satan to depict the different ways that Satan acts. My reading of the Bible has suggested that perhaps (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

(...) Do you have pictures? this sounds like an interesting technique, and I'd like to know how it looks. I couldn't find any on what i expect if your Brickshelf account: (URL) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: Casting Satan and Jesus for The Brick Testament

Just adding my $.02. I have a personal preference for Satan #8, mostly because he looks a lot like me. Don't get me wrong, the one you picked works, but I like #8 better :). This is starting to get really creepy. First the guy in The Law (the main (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: Casting Satan and Jesus for The Brick Testament

(...) I think the Quirrel head looks best, but black hair seems a bit too "Snidely Whiplash" evil. Dark-red looks a lot more sinister, and the body might look better in dark-red as well. (20 years ago, 8-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: Casting Satan and Jesus for The Brick Testament

(...) I'm not sure there's that much of a need for a separate Brick Testament newsgroup, but then again, I wouldn't turn it down. Would it just be a sub-group of .announce, like the ones for biportal, bimp, and brickmedia, etc.? Or a sub-group of (...) (20 years ago, 13-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

(...) Thanks, Jason. I didn't get around to posting my praise, but let me say here that I loved your SNOT delivery truck. Ingenius design. (...) Thanks for the tip. I will try that out next time the Bible calls for a wolf. -Brendan (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Satan Tempts Jesus

(...) Hey, To me this shot just had a very "Dawn of the Dead" feeling (at least the original, I didn't see the recent remake). I imagine all the minifigs heading over to the local Jerusalem shopping mall to hide from the zombies. Bruce (20 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)
