Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
Okay, I think I've procrastinated long enough. Publicly unveiled at Brickfest 2003 and winning first place in the Moonbase category is this, the (URL) Rigel 7 Pleasure Planet>. (URL) It's a 3 baseplate Moonbase megamodule in an L shape, designed to (...) (21 years ago, 13-Oct-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, FTX) !!

(...) Golly gee willikers! Such curves! I wish I could have been at BrickFest... Looks from the exterior pics there is another floor above the lounge? Is that just to house the motor for the sign? -Bill. (21 years ago, 13-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) Yeah, there's nothing above the lounge except for the motor and battery box to make the sign work. That and it's slightly domed so that it looks cool. Pretend that all the life support and power generation equipment is up there. Now, how it's (...) (21 years ago, 13-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Paul Baulch
(...) Great interior detail, Adrian! I like the CS-styled landing pad too. I would have used tiles, but that's probably just me - it's handy to be able to connect 'figs to it. Really well done. Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (21 years ago, 14-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) I might've considered using tiles, but I didn't have that many grey tiles laying about. And those that were I used between the layers. Thanks for the compliments Adrian (URL) (21 years ago, 14-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Jonathan Wilson
Woah. Cool module. Good job on the video games, pool tables and casino. I especially love what you did with all the decorated parts :) And anyone that owns that many of the 1x1 corner panels... :) (21 years ago, 14-Oct-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) Thanks. Since this isn't a space ship I didn't have the opportunity to engreeble the outside too much without it being cluttered, so I went crazy with the interior details instead. The various casino games were a lot of fun to put together. (...) (21 years ago, 14-Oct-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Patrick Bunn
Thanks for the tour, Adrian. I didn't get a chance to see the interior at Brickfest. I like the Green goblins playing pool and the frightened craps player next to all the sandpeople. Excellent detailing. Pat Bunn (21 years ago, 14-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) Thanks! That craps player's in the process of losing a great deal of money, so there's reason for him to be a little stressed :) Adrian (URL) (21 years ago, 15-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Mike Petrucelli
(...) That is awesome. I really like how you made the "glass" dome. It must be that holo-morphic plating so it only looks like nothing is there. :-) The landing pad is very nice too. -Mike Petrucelli (URL) (21 years ago, 14-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) Umm, yeah, holo-morphic. That sounds good :) Honestly though, even if I had those big quarter domes, I'd still have built the pool's dome like this, as it's much easier to see inside and check out the details. The landing pad is, of course, (...) (21 years ago, 15-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Oh, I think maybe you misunderstood me. I like it better than those quarter domes for exactly the reason you state, its much easier to see inside. The 'holo-morphic' was in reference to (URL) this.> (...) Wouln't it be nice if those were the (...) (21 years ago, 15-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Chris Maddison
(...) Wow, a casino moonbase. Wish I'd have thought of that. ;-) For reals, this thing is sweet. I've been waiting for you to do formal pics so I could see it all. Great, *great* slot machines. Love the gaming tables too. The interior looks very (...) (21 years ago, 14-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) Sorry mate, did I steal another idea from the brain of Mr. Maddison? *hehe* Yeah, I wish I knew where that rotating airlock idea came from... Adrian (URL) (21 years ago, 15-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Brendan Powell Smith
That's a beautiful thing, Adrian. Exterior: Very attractive overall design with the three connected cylinders, and the Tycho-style windows-on-curved-walls once again looks great. Nice use of those 1x1 trans-red domed cylinder thingies around the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Oct-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) Thanks, and we've got a lot of comments to go through here... (...) I think it's because it takes a fair number of slopes in different sizes, and a good handful of corner slopes, and I think lots of people would rather just do it in plates. (...)         Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Gil Shaw
(...) Waaaay too much to comment on! All I can say is 'WOW'. The over all shape is of course amazing, but the little things really make it stand out for me...the spiget on the bar, the craps table, the ATM. Just too cool. Wonderful stuff, man. (...)         Re: Gamble your money away at Rigel 7 —Adrian Drake
(...) Thanks, and it's not a spigot, it's a tap. How else do you think Spacer's Best on draft would be served? :) Adrian (URL) (21 years ago, 17-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
