That's a beautiful thing, Adrian.
Exterior:
Very attractive overall design with the three connected cylinders, and the
Tycho-style windows-on-curved-walls once again looks great. Nice use of those
1x1 trans-red domed cylinder thingies around the launch pad. I'd never seen a
dome created from slopes like the one under the Rigel 7 sign -- it works quite
nicely.
The invisible water is a cool effect, especially with the guy doing the
backstroke mid-pool. The structure of the inviso-dome is neato, and I like how
the doorway from the main structure out to the pool area conforms to the shape
of the side of the invisible dome.
First Floor:
Frankenstein at the mic in the comedy club totally cracked me up. I tell ya,
that guy gets no respect. (Maybe if he clones himself he'll fare better.) The
spiral staircases throughout are really nice. Have you used those before? I'm
surprised no one else commented on those. I never thought I'd see spiral
staircases in .space, I must say.
The casino area is great. It's very nice how the row of slots conforms to the
curve of the wall. Nice design on the craps tables.
Second Floor:
Very nice fountain. It took me a moment to figure out what everybody was doing
in this photo:

And then I realized they were ordering off the menus. Very cool. Nice bar -- I
gues Stormtroopers can drink through their helmets. That's handy.
The billiard tables are quite nice, though I might have used something longer
for the cues. Maybe space cue sticks only need to need to be half-length due to
some futuristic technological breakthrough, but what I might have tried to do is
to have the minifig holding two lightsaber blades with the their hand covering
the gap between them. Or maybe have have the fig stand sideways (as one would
in billiards) with their head turned to one side, with one lightsaber piece in
each hand, as if it were one long cue.
Is that a coin-op dancing machine at the top of this photo?

Third Floor:
I like the idea of a space coat check. Nice sofas. It's funny how minifigs
can't bend their knees. Well, maybe it's not so funny if you're a minifig.
Conclusion:
Superb job overall. Uping the ante for all other Moon Basers builders out
there. Congrats on winning the Brickfest contest!

| Okay, I think I've procrastinated long enough. Publicly unveiled at Brickfest 2003 and winning first place in the Moonbase category is this, the (URL) Rigel 7 Pleasure Planet>. (URL) It's a 3 baseplate Moonbase megamodule in an L shape, designed to (...) (21 years ago, 13-Oct-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, FTX) !!
