Re: Request for New Animation Newsgroup

(...) We do plan to create lugnet.animation. It may be available tomorrow night, but no promises. Todd is considering moving the existing .cinema content over to this new group before making it accessable. -Suz fut admin.nntp (22 years ago, 5-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.animation)

Re: Request for New Animation Newsgroup

(...) ...IMHO, animation would be better if its focus is on our works. Cinema sounds more like a group devoted to discussing the use of LEGO in movies... (...) ...I agree! (cuz Greg told me to :-) (22 years ago, 5-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.animation)

  Re: Rendered animations

(...) Greetings Trond. (...) It's not the easiest one to find as people have mentioned before. I often see postings about animation on LUGNET that never make it into this group. I have submitted a request in the Admin newsgroup to have Animation (...) (22 years ago, 5-Aug-02, to lugnet.animation)

(...) Thanks for the info, Stefan. I'll go get the "free" basic version, as I'm just watching movies, not making them (yet). As for where I downloaded it, it was TitanPictures, I believe. There's a link for divxcodec.exe. James (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.animation)

Re: Beware - Divx codec is Adware

Hello people, One needs to be cautious indeed about this, but things are not as dark as they appear. When you start your download from the DivX website, it clearly gives you the choice between 3 versions: DivX Free - This one has no AdWare, can play (...) Ouch, thanks for the info James. I definitely won't download it. If you find a DivX codec without adware in it, please post the link here. -Tim (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.animation)

Beware - Divx codec is Adware

I downloaded a couple of movies from links at the Brickfilms directory last week, and they required me to install a Divx codec to view. One film had a link to a codec, so I downloaded it... Later on, after I had hung up my modem, I got a message (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.animation)

  Re: :-( Lost movies...

(...) Hi Stephen, I have them both in my film directory on my hard disk. Can I e-mail them to you, or do you want me to upload them to my ftp server for a while? Yours newly, Stefan (22 years ago, 27-Jul-02, to lugnet.animation)
