Hi All,
I found most of the new adventurer sets at my local TRU today.  I'm really
excited about these new sets.  I hope I'm not repeating any past comments,
but I was surprised at what the new sets have to offer.  First of all, we
get two colors of elephants!  One is dark gray and the other is light gray!
I've placed a pic on brickshelf of the two together.  Here is the address:

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Merthyn/AdventurerParts2003/adv8.jpg

I was also surprised to see that the fence parts in the large Scorpion
Palace set (7418) were not red, but the rust color!  A new part (I think) is
the 1x1x6 column!  It comes in the same rust red and you get 16 of them in
the 7418 set.  The bottom is square for 1 brick high, the rest is round.
It's like a small version of the large column that's been available.  You
can see a pic here:

The dome is not round either!  If you put two of them together, you would
get a oblong dome, not a round one.  Here is a side/back view of the dome part:

The dome is rather flexible too.  You can bend it slightly with no problem.

There are two new sizes to the round disk parts if I'm correct!  At least,
I've never seen the two sizes.  You get a couple with printing on them for
the new shields.  There are two yellow ones that are used in the building in
set 7418.  A larger red one is used in the same set for an umbrella on the
elephant.  Here is a pic comparing the different sizes with the older sizes:

To attach the shields to the minifigs, you add a 1x1 round plate to the
inside and fit the minifig's hand to it.  I'm not too happy with that
connection as it doesn't allow for positioning the shield in a variety of
ways.  I found that you can use one of the t-bar parts instead and make a
better grip.  You get one of the t-bar parts in the new set 7414 "Elephant
caravan"!

The new Yeti figure and the tiger figure are interesting.  They both use the
same body features.  The body is a set of immovable legs with a 2x2 plate
and two 1x2x1 bricks with holes in them for the arm parts.  Here are some
pics to explain it better and show you a close up of the two figs:

The first pic also shows the new hat on the female fig (Miss Pippin Reed)
from the yeti set (7412).  Here is another pic with a side view of the hat
and a pic of Doctor Kilroy.  Notice you get black hands on her and brown
hands on him. Pretty cool!

Here are pics of the other minifigs starting with the two Indian figs from
the large set 7418.  The left one is Maharaja Lallu and the other is his guard.

Here is a pic of Miss Pippin Reed (I like the last name...heheh), Babloo,
and Lord Sinister:

And here is a pic of Johnny Thunder, Lord Sinister, and Doctor Kilroy:

When it gets approved, I think you can view the whole folder at this address:

Here are some of my takes on the different sets:
7409 Secret Tomb
This set is nothing special.  You get a skeleton with the new mean face.
You get Lord Sinister.  I didn't notice any new parts.  The only thing that
might be new is you get a 2x4 plate with axle rods on each end in brown.
I'm not sure that part has been in that color before.  Not a bad buy for
3.99, even so!

7410 Jungle River
This set was $7.99 for 65 pieces!  You get the new gray rowboat part.  You
get Johnny Thunder and an alligator.  You get a mean skeleton head and a
yellow temple headpiece.  The best part of this set to me is that you get
two "brown" 1x2x2 plane window pieces (but with no glass).  You also get two
of the rust red columns and two elephant trunk parts in dark blue.  I like
the way they did the boat.  A decent set, but not real exciting!

7411 Tygurah's Roar
This set is the one with the tiger figure.  It has 94 pieces for 9.99!  You
get 4 rust red columns a decorated 1x4x2 part and another skeleton head.
There are two yellow scimitar/sword pieces. Doctor Kilroy is the only
minifig.  You get some brown tiles, some white tall slopes, and two white
1x1x4 slotted bricks.  Nothing to write home about, but not bad.

7412 Yeti Hideout
This set was 9.99 too.  It has 114 parts including the Yeti figure and Miss
Pippin in the Mongolian hat.  This set is much more interesting and has
better parts (in my opinion).  You get a small white baseplate (8x16).  You
get two white 1x4x5 half arch parts, two 1x2x4 brown arch parts, and 4 black
3x3 corner roof bricks.  You get a white triangular BURP piece and 6 - 1x1
trans lt. blue round plates.  A nice assortment of hard to find pieces and
the new hat make this a nice buy.  I think Miss Pippin's face is new too.

7414 Elephant Caravan
This set was 19.99 for 102 pieces!  That's not a good price per part, but
you get the dark gray elephant in this one.  You also get Babloo with a lt
gray scimitar and a red turban.  It's nice to see them bring back the
adventurer jeep in this set.  You get two of the pole lances in red in this
set and two parts in brown that I've never seen.  They are pole pieces with
a 1x2 plate on one end and a doughnut connection (like on the teepee poles)
on the other end.  This could be a interesting part to have.  My first
impression is that they would make some nice long oars for a long boat!  I
like this set even if it isn't the best buy!

7415 Aero Nomad
This is the balloon set!  It was 19.99 for 118 pieces.  The only new pieces
I could tell was the 4x4 round quarter plates in brown.  I don't think they
have been available in that color.  You get 4 of the tan curved fence pieces
in this set.  You get Johnny Thunder and Doctor Kilroy too.  It's nice to
have the dome parts and the black rigging pieces available again.  There is
a nice white string piece that I think is new.  This string is available in
the Yeti set also.  It's a 3 inch white string with the stud connectors on
the ends.

7418 Scorpian Palace
This is the large set.  It has 358 pieces and sells for 49.99.  It has the
light gray elephant.  You get 5 minifigs: Kilroy, Sinister, Thunder,
Maharaja, and the guard.  There are a number of white arches with this.  You
get the rust columns, the rust fence parts (straight and curved.  You also
get an assortment of parts in dark blue.  There are 1x plates, 2x plates, 1x
tiles, and some other small parts.  There are two large white columns plus
the dome pieces.  You get two gray scimitars and two yellow ones.  You get
the new round disk parts and tubans in white and black.  This is the set to
own and you will probably need a couple of them. haha

I didn't find the 7417 set available.  I'm looking forward to getting it
when it comes out.
I hope these pics and the information is helpful to those who haven't gotten
access to the new sets.
enjoy,
Tom
