  Re: .adventurers needs your help!

(...) Here is my Brickshelf Gallery: (URL) It contains my Adventures of Johnny Thunder series, of which there will hopefully soon (think Thanksgiving weekend) be a new addition. My Brickshelf ID (and on most other forums I frequent) is Athos (...) (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: Steamed Onions

(...) Ahaa! (...) You mean... that you haven't sorted your lego?!! Right! OK, really: How have you sorted it? (...) Yes and we’re still waiting for someone to model those oniondomes... Somebody who really likes them - like you ;-) That’s always a (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) I personaly hated it. At first, it seemed like a great idea, but I guess they screwed it up bad because the scenario is poor at best, the acting is very ordinary (I really don't like Gwynneth Paltrow and don't even get me started on Jude (...)   Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) I've not seen this yet, but it looks cool, what with the retro look and all. We took the kids to see The Incredibles over the weekend. I thought it was very good. And yes, I did see it with the mindset of an 8 year old. It's got a few cool (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: .adventurers needs your help!

Thanks Luis. I have made a link to one of your Brickshelf Galleries and I am working on the Roll Call and Subtheme stuff. It could take a while but I have your information now, thanks. Oh, and I have often looked at your Hanger MOCs for inspiration! (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) I loved it. I had a big stupid grin on my face for two hours. The entire movie is a tribute to 1930s era art deco, robots, and adventure comics of the time. There are also a lot of visual references to old science fiction movies, so keep your (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Thanks for the reviews guys. I will probably see it, but maybe wait for the dvd it often works out at the same price as a cinema ticket! :) In the very least it can be of some inspiration for MOC building! Chris (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) Saw it and REALLY liked it. I knew it wasn't going to be Shakespeare, but it was an enjoyable romp. It was like watching a pulp novel, and it really worked. There was real chemistry between Paltrow and Law, and the ending line was a corker. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

The movie is good but a little disjointed at times. However, it isnt exactly Crimson Skies on the big screen. It has all the elements of one but it doesn't put it into cohesive aerial cinema. The imagery is really good, though with a 50's style (...) (20 years ago, 14-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

(...) I didn't get a chance to see it while it was in the theaters. The trailers I saw looked really cool though. I know it didn't do very well (at least in this area) at the box office, but that doesn't always mean much. I'm patiently waiting for (...)   Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

I have just seen the trailer for this film, it has possibly been on release in the USA for a while, I don't know. But it looks like Crimson Skies has just hit the big screen - blimps and prop planes with huge guns!! Has anyone seen the movie? Is it (...)   Re: Steamed Onions

(...) I thought you wanted it made shorter? Has “burps” some kind of lego connonation I’m not aware of or are we OT? (...) That depends a lot on how well you’ve sorted your collection, but yes, rare parts, and parts you don’t have are of course (...) (20 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

(...) Chris, You can add a link to my Snake Oil Salesman MOC if you want. The original thread is here (URL). You can also add my name to the role call if you'd like. I really need to build a few more Adventurers oriented MOCS. -Elroy (20 years ago, 11-Nov-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)
