Yes, we all feel the same about this. I disagree that this occurs constantly;
semi-frequently would be more accurate, I think.
The latest occurence ( http://news.lugnet.com/market/buy-sell-trade/?n=13692 )
had the same message was posted 5 times in 5 days. The offender received a
handful of replies from members and from Admin stating the Terms of Use
violation and general annoyance. Those replies hopefully will set the
offender
on track to avoid this in the future. I don't think any other action is
warranted in this situation.
As far as marketplace posts that are annoying or inappropriate, there is no
shortage of other readers who step forward to steer people in the right
direction or state their displeasure with offending messages. This seems to
keep things well regulated without any heavy-handed action by admins or
curators or such.

A Link for the Marketplace FAQ has now been added to the marketplace root
page.
If you think it should appear on all of the .market sub-group pages it can be
added there, as well.

Okay, Okay...
The curator for the entire Marketplace hierarchy is me--Kevin Salm
No, Lar, you are not forgetful but I did need to add my name to the bottom of
each of the .market pages. That is now completed so everyone will know that
all of the .market groups have a curator.

Curators also need guidance. I am rather new to the role and view my job as
curator as a rather simple one. I believe that the primary role of newsgroup
curator is to provide (links to) the most useful and valid information related
to that group. This may not be as easy as it sounds.
I know that there are a few thing I should be doing to gather that information
and to refine and consolidate as needed. Suggestions from other Lugnet users
are good starting points to determine what info is wanted/needed. I have also
solicited help from others for this and have done a little information
gathering of my own. I need to do more to make the .market hierarchy pages
better and more useful.
Since curators are NOT admins, they do not rule with a heavy hand. When
issues
and problems arise I have no problem stepping forward to help resolve them.
But if the issue (like the one I mentioned above) appears to have been taken
care of by others, I will not step forward just because I am the groups'
curator. That just makes more noise.
