Now to allow SMTP posting without a web client, how about having an option
to reply to the auth message sent by the server...  the way many list
servers act:  In the subject of the mail, put in a code, and have the
reply-to address to something like auth@lugnet.com...   Then, when I get
the message, I can just reply to it, type in nothing at all, and just hit
send.  The server will see that it got a message from me with the right
code, and authunticates my post.

I was wondering about that, but how do you avoid things like bad vacation
programs or other auto-responders, or people who just hit Reply and scream
back some curses?  :)

I suppose it could work if you had to reply AND put, say, an 'x' into a box
or something like that.  I like your idea.
