Could someone please correct the news-server setup page so that it no longer specifies port 119? This port has not been available for years: (URL) 26 Sep 2003 and even for those of us who were around back then, when doing a new news-server setup we (...) (...) Yep, I just didn't realise it checked the SPAM-block email, not the real version! In a fit of weirdness I decided to try it and it worked. ROSCO (Not that I use NNTP much anymore, but it's nice to know I can if necessary). (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) No, it's not related to cookies AFAIK. I went and checked, and I can see your latest email setup request in the system , and it's marked IGNORE (meaning that the preprocessing knows that it's exactly the same as one that has already been (...) (19 years ago, 19-May-05, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) If it still has your old email it sounds like the cookie didn't get set correctly? Try going through setup again via this URL: (URL) the browser that you want to post with and make sure you are accepting cookies. Doing it while signed in is (...) Yesterday I changed my Lugnet email, and today I got a message saying the server was ready to accept posts. So I tried to post in .o-t.test using my newsreader, but I was declined with the standard 441 message. So then I posted using the web (...) (19 years ago, 19-May-05, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
