A new newsgroup lugnet.admin.finance has been created for the discussion and brainstorming of LUGNET financial aspects. Previously, this had simply been a webpage placeholder at (URL) one level above the Donations info page. CHARTER/PURPOSE (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.admin.finance) !!

[snip] (...) correct me if I'm wrong, but you're trying to send a message via mail, not via nntp, right? from what you posted it seems like your mail server was not able to look up the correct DNS entry for LUGNET (Failed MX lookup; try again (...) (...) Hmmm. Probably doesn't help much, but I just connected using Outlook Express (1st time for months!) and it was quick. Posted a message, authentication email took less than 2 minutes, message appeared in newsgroup less than a minute after (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) Yes, I am behind a "NAT box" server. I have the same symptoms as you. NNTP will eventually connect. If i scan through the messages I have no problem (once in the system) but If I take too long to read one message I have to wait all over again (...) (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) FWIW, I too am having problems connecting to the NNTP server. It does connect, eventually, but takes about a minute or two. My guess is that it's trying to do an auth request to my machine, but my firewall is blocking the request, causing the (...) (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

HI: (...) I as well, have been having a hard time reading Lugnet newsgroups. From my end nothing else has changed. I can connect to other news servers.
