    Unable to connect via NNTP —Kevin Wilson
   For the past 3 days or so I've been unable to get my newsreader (Outlook Express) to connect to the LUGNET News server. (I"m posting this via the we interface). Has anything changed? ANyone else having trouble? Kevin (23 years ago, 24-Mar-02, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

My guess is that it's trying to do an auth request to my machine, but my firewall is blocking the request, causing the (...) (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

   (...) Yes, I am behind a "NAT box" server. I have the same symptoms as you. NNTP will eventually connect. If i scan through the messages I have no problem (once in the system) but If I take too long to read one message I have to wait all over again (...)
