| All, We're going to begin soon unifying the many types of LUGNET users into a single, coherent base system. This will greatly simplify sign-up, configuration, and daily usage, and consequently I think this will make a lot of people very, very happy (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.admin.general) !!

I think I have an idea how we can automate this: you fill out a forgotten-password form, and the server sends a confirmation e-mail to you containing a special URL which would be valid for a day or so, after which it would expire. | Hi! I am a brand new member, so please excuse the confusion if I am asking a FAQ. I am trying to add a password, but cannot get it to work. Anytime I try to add--or even replace--from the password page, it just simply sits there forever. Doesn't (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

| (...) Brady, I've fixed the problem -- although unfortunately I don't understand exactly what was causing the hang-up. It had to do with file locking rather than CPU consumption. | (...) If you have your original password, then I'm not sure what you're asking for. Did you try that original password to log in? It should still work, even if you changed your password since (unless you 'retired' it). When we reset the password for (...) (22 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

| I have not received an email advising me of a new password. Since it has been at least 3 or 4 months (possibly more) since I did anything with my lugnet password, I do not remember "retiring" the original password. So my questions are: can you reset (...)
