It's done by the webserver automagically on links now (preserving other
people's associate ID's, if present, of course) but if you're linking from
your own external webpages and you'd like to add the 'lugnet' ID, here's how
to do it:
The associate ID goes right after the ASIN number (ASIN = Amazon Standard Item
Number, IIRC). So, for example,
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000326NA/lugnet
is another way to write
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000326NA
And you can safely axe out the session ID (the long number with two hyphens)
and convert
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000326NA/102-1982799-2856956
into
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000326NA/lugnet
or
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000326NA
