Hmm...that would work if you were posting to only one newsgroup and not
crossposting. If you wanted crossposting, it would have to have multiple
drop-down list-boxes. Using JavaScript, multiple list-boxes could be filled
from a single data table, but it could be done. Another option might be to
give a single multiple-select static (non-drop-down) list-box. But in either
case it could be a lot of scrolling in a small area.
What about a pop-up link to a list of newsgroups -- kind of a reminder list?
Something like this page:
http://news.lugnet.com/news/groups/index/
but more compact and maybe indented slightly. That could be launched as a
small pop-up window using JavaScript and would work in both NN and MSIE.
If JavaScript were disabled it would appear in your main window.

| Hi Todd, With the proliferation of newsgroups on Lugnet; as a means to simplify posting messages to the proper newsgroup(s), would it be possible to make both the Newsgroups and Followup-To fields on the message window be pull down menus? I can (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
