     I use NNTP all the time and don't see this problem. It takes about 3 seconds to establish the NNTP connection between my laptop and lugnet.com and then I can scan and download the 39 groups I'm subscribed to in just a couple of minutes. I can open an NNTP connection by: - expanding the list of subscribed newsgroups - fetching the headers for any given newsgroup - opening a message - sending a message erm, I think that's all the daily situations that (...)    (...) Using Netscape 3.01 at work on an RS/6000 with AIX 4.1.5, behind a firewall, I do see some situations where a large number of messages in the group slows down processing. It can usually be tied to a getting the message headers for a group (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
