Um, thanks for publishing everyone's vote here.  :-(
Reminder: Adam stated in the CFV that everyone's vote would be published

Yah, I read this part (but see below), figuring it meant input but not
output; i.e. the "public" on LUGNET could vote, and do so openly -- i.e.
honestly.

Along with the final result a list of people who voted and their
                                                          ^^^^^^^^^
response will be posted to lugnet.admin.general one week after voting has

   started.

This part I missed.  Arg.  I had assumed (and we all know what they say
about assumption) that the results would include numbers, not details.
Definitely my bad.

Making these votes public was probably not the best thing to do...
Why not?

Because of the potential for mob-mentality flamage.  Keeping in mind that
we've seen a *lot* of incredibly immature responses to jw, I was not too
keen on being known as someone who would vote for leniency in his case.

Cheers,
- jsproat

(...) Why? Your vote for leniency makes you, at worst, a softie. Nothing wrong with softies. (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Jeremy, You have shown yourself to be an informed and generous person. By your vote for JW you have shown only that you are a more forgiving person than I am. I voted the exact opposite of you. Bryce McGlone (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
