I think the light-warm-brown bar on the left snaps to gray in 8-bit mode.
#C8C8C0 -> #CCCCCC
#E8E8E0 -> #CCCCCC
(It's the same BGCOLOR as the tables in the news traffic page.) Under
Windows, these might also map to other nearby non-gray colors depending on
how your palette is set up/customized in 8-bit mode...
If you're running in 16-bit or 24-bit color and it still appears gray, could
you send me a screenshot?

| (...) I'm running in 32-bit color depth, and those are in fact the colors that get rendered. (I checked in photoshop to make sure exactly.) On my -- admittedly less-than-great -- monitor it comes out an off-grey rather than a warm brown. (In fact, (...) (26 years ago, 4-Oct-98, to lugnet.admin.general)
