Re: posting privileges to 1000steine-members revoked!?

(...) I can see how there might be some confusion about this. Remember we do not censor posts. There's a little trick I use a lot to weed out duplicates: If the article being examined is in a group that's not the first one listed in the Newsgroups: header, then ignore that article, because it'll be examined in another directory. (...) That's correct - each newsgroup is stored in a seperate file, so a single message posted to multiple newsgroups will have multiple copies, and will be counted multiple times. (...) Maybe it counts the cross-post as separate messages in the count. So one post in 3 newsgroups could actually counts as 3 post. jt (20 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Well slap my a$$ and call me Charlie. :] I just did the same search "Kyle D. Jackson", and found 116 posts authored by me in 2004. I didn't think I had that many. (...) Dude, these statistics are whacked. There's no way I posted 177 messages in 2004, since I only crawled back to LUGNET part way through 2004, and don't post often. How are these stats generated? KDJ ___...___ LUGNETer #203 (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.general)

  posting privileges to 1000steine-members revoked!?
